    Safe and reliable power supply

A safe and reliable power supply is one of

    the fundamental requirements for cost-

    effective, fault-free operation. The link

between the power distribution and the

building or process control system ensures

that downtime is minimized in the event of

a fault, thus saving you outage costs. With

its products and systems, Totally Integrated

Power forms the basis for this functionality

and allows you to make changes to build-

    ing use easily.

Our complete range for electrical power distribution

The supply network operator feeds medium voltage to the medium-voltage switchgear located in thebasement. This ensures safe and cost-efcient power distribution in the building and distributes power

to the transformer. Siemens offers gas- and air-insulated switchgear for all kinds of requirements and

applications. They are type-tested in accordance with IEC 62271-200.

It is essential that protection systems react to faults quickly, reliably and, above all, correctly. It is only

in this way that valuable equipment can be reliably protected, maximum safety can be guaranteed and

failures in supply can be prevented. With the exible devices from the SIPROTEC and Reyrolle product

families, processes can be controlled efciently, systems can be reliably protected and faults can be

precisely analyzed, thus enabling them to be quickly rectied.

Integrated, intelligent energy automation allows for all systems to be monitored and controlled remotely

and cost-effectively. High requirements are satised in terms of immunity to faults, operating reliability,

real-time resolution and secure data transmission. In addition to the SICAM PQS evaluation and analysis

system, measuring transducers, power meters, quality recorders and disturbance recorders are all availa-

ble for monitoring and ensuring the quality of the network and power.

Transformers convert medium voltage to the low voltage required to operate the power loads.

GEAFOL transformers are ame-retardant and self-extinguishing and do not give off any toxic gases

in cases of re. This makes them particularly suitable for use where distribution transformers in the

immediate vicinity of human beings must guarantee maximum safety.

These are suitable for use in extreme climate conditions and for installation in very conned

spaces in both distributor networks and industrial systems. The hermetically sealed system of

the TUMETIC distribution transformers prevents, for example, the penetration of oxygen, nitrogen

or damp into the cooling liquid.

Electrical power is distributed via cables or busbar trunking systems. Thanks to their high short-circuit

strength and minimal re load, the SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking systems are considerably safer than

cables. If the use of space changes, exible modications and expansions during operation are possible.

The SIVACON S8 low-voltage switchboards provide maximum safety for human beings and plants

thanks to design verication by verication test according to IEC 61439-1/-2 and arcing fault resistance.

In addition, a type-tested connection to the SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking systems is available.

ALPHA distribution boards as small, wall or oor-mounted distribution boards offer highly reliableand standards-compatible quality and safety in accordance with the relevant standards. They pass the

current on to rooms and manufacturing sections.

We offer a comprehensive protection concept with a broad, coordinated range of devices for line

protection, personal and re protection, lightning and overvoltage protection, and device and system

protection. The communication-capable air circuit breakers 3WL and the molded-case circuit breakers

3VL transmit important information for diagnostics, fault, maintenance or cost center management

to a central control center via standardized bus systems.

Manual SENTRON switching devices can be reliably used in electrical systems that are switched on

and off manually. Where systems and loads are controlled by means of electrical signals, electronic

switching devices such as remote control switches 5TT4, switching relays 5TT4 and Insta contactors

    5TT5 are used.

The 7KT/7KM PAC power monitoring devices measure the energy values for the infeed, outgoing

feeders or individual loads precisely, reliably and in a reproducible manner. They also provide important

measured values for assessing the condition of the system and the quality of the network.

High plant availability and low downtimes help keep costs low. The residual current monitors 5SV8

help detect and remedy faults before the plant is shut down. The automatic transfer switch 3KC9

increases the reliability of the power supply via automatic or manual switching between two power

supply systems. The monitoring of electrical values increases plant availability and operational safety.

The powermanager energy monitoring software supervises processes and archives measured values and

displays them in a clearly laid-out manner. The data is provided by communication-capable low-voltage

power distribution components such as PAC 7KT/7KM PAC power monitoring devices and 3WL/3VL

circuit breakers. Savings potential can be identied and the availability of energy ensured due to the

transparency in power distribution that is gained with the aforementioned technology.

The SIMATIC powerrate software option for WinCC and PCS 7 as well as device-specic block libraries

make it possible to integrate various energy management functions such as structured visualization and

archiving of consumption data, cost center allocation or load management as well as low-voltage power

distribution components into the systems of the process and manufacturing industry.

This building automation system for all types and sizes of buildings and all applications increases energy

efciency while providing convenient control over the room climate. Ease of use ensures maximum

comfort. Desigo Insight permits signicant energy and cost savings.

With GAMMA building management systems based on the global KNX standard, lighting, sun protectionand room climate can be implemented comfortably, exibly and in an energy-efcient manner.
