Principal’s Report Culture of Success

Tingha Public School is committed to a ‘school culture of success’. To support the systems and processes

required we are applying five week cycles to bring greater impact. By regularly attending school and displaying the

school’s values for Positive Behaviours for Learning (Proud, Strong, Safe and Respectful) students will gain

educational success and contribute to our ‘school culture of success’.

Advisory Meeting

This Wednesday, 20th March an Advisory Meeting will be held at 12pm in the town hall. All parents are invited

to attend and put forward ideas on how as a school community we can support the student’s learning at Tingha

Public School. It would be great to see as many people as possible.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a national day that celebrates our country’s cultural diversity. This Thursday 21st March, our

school will be attending Gilgai Public School, with Gum Flat Public School to recognise this day that celebrates

cultures from across the world. Students will participate in a variety of different cultural activities and have the

opportunities to socialise with students from these schools. Family and community members are more than

welcome to attend on this day.

NAPLAN Online

Our school will complete NAPLAN Tests online this year. In anticipation for the tests in May, students in Year

3 and 5 will complete readiness tests starting next week. The aim of these tests is to familiarise students with the

requirements. These tests are not meant to cause any stress.

Royal Far West Health Bus

The Royal Far West Health bus will be attending the school on Thursday 21st March. This is a wonderful

opportunity to have free overall health and wellbeing assessments and screenings conducted on children aged 3-5

years. The health specialists will be operating out of the hall.

Visiting performance

Next Tuesday, 26th March the students will have the opportunity to participate in a free visiting Samba

performance. This will be a hands on Brazilian percussion workshop. I’m sure the students will enjoy this

energetic, fast paced and groovy workshop.

As always I look forward to another great fortnight at Tingha Public School and witnessing students becoming

‘strong’ with their learning.

We were fortunate to have been

visited by the Island Breeze

Fijian Rugby Team a few weeks

ago. They entertained us with

some Fijian dancing and showed

us a few moves used in Rugby.

Some of our students had a go at

dancing along with them.
