Time for Nature:In and Around Cessford, AB
by User I spent my Time in Nature shadowing my good friend Janet and her research partners during a typical week of ferruginous hawk field work. Janet and her fellows researchers are part of a collaborative project between the University of Alberta and Environment Canada studying the effects of industrialization and agricultural on ferruginous hawk habitat. The idea, as many of you would know, is to learn as much as they can about ferruginous hawk nesting habits, diet, habitat loss and other influencing factors in order to inform conservation and recovery planning decision making.
For me, it meant I got to spend the week observing and handling these amazing prairie raptors .
