The Story Behind the StandOur stand today is inspired by Alice Howland’s winning design for the Timbmet Dan Kemp Memorial Pavilion, entitled ‘Secret Shoreditch’. The competition is run by TRADA in conjunction with the Oxford Brookes University School of Architecture with the winning pavilion then displayed at Ecobuild. The award is in memory of our founder, Dan Kemp, whose family still run Timbmet today. The twenty pods on display feature a selection of products from our portfolio; from our range of Timbers, Decking, Cladding, Mouldings and Engineered Components (TEC®) to the Panel products we stock including Veneered Boards and Kronospan, Egger and Greenlam decors. The pods were manufactured and built by the talented teams in our Glasgow mill and our Stonehouse Depot.

The six Timber pods showcase a range of species from around the world, from Red Grandis (exclusive to Timbmet in the UK), to the more unusual Swiss Pear. All species are available as sawn loose or as packs.

Staining/Treatments (Red Grandis)Through our trusted partners, Dresser Mouldings, we are able to supply our timber finished in a number of ways. The Red Grandis timber on display below has been painted and the Lacquered Oak has been inlaid with Walnut.

Not only does Timbmet stock an extensive range of specialist panels we also stock the essentials such as OSB, MDF and Chipboard. The OSB and MDF panels on display have both been CNC machined by our Stonehouse team. The MDF is inlaid with Sundeala board which is available to order.
