Tim Scott

Tim Scott, vocalist, bassist, songwriter, is a veteran professional of the music industry. His skilled and soulful voice as well as his deep funky bass notes have graced the stage with of some of the most notable names in the music business including: Tower of Power, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston, Etta James and Jack Mack and the Heart Attack.

Tim has been a member of the R&B/Soul band, Jack Mack and The Heart Attack for the last 12 years. Performing at the 1994 Olympic Games in Atlanta and with Scott Hamilton’s Ice Show this year, Tim has added his rhythm and soul in these and many other endeavors including recent tours with Robben Ford, The Boneshakers, Steve Ferrone & Friends and The Grammy All Stars.

Tim has collaborated on numerous albums and sound tracks as a musician and vocalist, as well as a composer.

Classically trained in voice by the Northwest’s renowned vocal coach, the late George Peckham, Tim also teaches his unique style of vocal power which focuses on diaphragmatic breath control and dispels the myth of falsetto voice.

Tim is a12 year member of Jack Mack & the Heart Attack as bassist, vocalist and composer. Currently having released their fourth CD, “Scott Hamilton & Friends - Jack Mack & the Heart Attack Live in Philadelphia (featuring Susan Anton)”, this CD was taped live at the First Union Center in Philadelphia for the Scott Hamilton Ice Show which aired on NBC TV in December, 2002. The show also featured star of Nashville & Broadway, Gary Morris and his son, upcoming pop artist Matt Morris, plus comedians Mack & Jamie and a cast of Olympic Gold skating stars.

In 2000, they released their third CD, "Arrythmia", Bill Wray (Don Henley, Diana Ross, Little Feat) producing. Jack Mack travels extensively – performing at the ’96 Olympics in Atlanta, GA.; they were onstage – 100 ft. from the bomb blast that occurred at Centennial Park. Other appearances include the 96’ Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast with Mavis Staples in Phoenix, AZ., Whoopie Goldberg’s’ Surprise 40th Birthday Party 95’, Super Bowl 28 for Budweiser in Atlanta 94’, the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl 27 Victory Celebration ’93, the 35 th & 38th Grammy Awards Parties, and the 11th – 15th Annual KISS 108FM/ Genesis Children’s’ Fund Concert in Boston with James Brown, Julian Lennon, kd lang & others. Jack Mack recently had a song featured in the new Jaime Foxx movie "Held Up". Tim played bass and sang on a cover of the Sam & Dave duet, "Hold On, I'm Comin", for the film.

Tim also performs regularly with other groups and artists such as jazz/blues guitarist Robben Ford (Concord/Blue Moon Records) Bad Monkey Recording artists Randy Jacobs & the Boneshakers, former drummer with Eric Clapton, Average White Band and currently with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Steve Ferrone’s 10 piece band, Steve Ferrone & Friends, The China Club All Stars (the China Club house band, which hosts the Celebrity Pro Jam featuring various celebrity singers and musicians), Bruce Conte (Severn Records) featuring the former T.O.P. guitarist, and Tim's latest solo project Hip Street, with TOP bassist Francis Rocco Prestia.

Tim has 2 co-writes on Bruce Conte’s new CD on Severn Records, including the title cut, “Bulletproof”. Tim sang the lead vocal on his other cut, "Just Won't Act Right", as well as backgrounds on "Nowhere To Go". "Bulletproof" was co-written with members of the Robert Cray Band. This CD was previously released in 2000 and titled "Rhythm Meets the Blues", on PAPA Records,

Tim co- wrote 4 cuts for the CD by T.O.P’s Francis Rocco Prestia on P-Vine Records entitled "Everybody On The Bus". He sang lead on "I’m So Glad", as well as backgrounds on "Baby Don’t Go".

Tim was interviewed for a book by author Stella Hemmings entitled The Musician’s Survival Guide to Life on the Road by PC Publishing. He speaks candidly about the challenges of being a professional musician and the experience of performing on stage at the ’96 Summer Olympics when a terrorist’s bomb caused death and injuries, cutting short a celebration of the world at Centennial Park.

Tim played bass on 6 sides for guitarist Richard Dangel’s CD, "New Evidence" on Suspicious Records, as well as co-writing one cut with Dangel; "Secrets Best Kept". He sang on two cuts for Carmen Grillo’s CD: "Both Sides of the Coin". Also, bass tracks for the NBC television show "Friends", "Aspen Extremes" for the FOX Network, a national ad for Toyota and sang on a remake of the hit song "Disco Inferno" for new movie "The Last Bachelor", which was then picked up for the international Budweiser "Ants" commercial "Burnt Out", which debuted on TV in the U.S. during the NBA Basketball Championship Games.

1995 - Featured Artist for City of Phoenix: Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast for State of Arizona honoring artist, Curtis Mayfield; also performing that day with The Impressions & Stevie Wonder. 1994 & 1991 - toured with Tower Of Power on bass. Also collaborated with Emilio Castillo and Stephen "Doc" Kupka of Tower of Power and Huey Lewis on title cut of Towers’ 1991 Sony/Epic Records release "Monster On A Leash" (a.k.a. "Keep Your Monster On A Leash"). The album went to #15 on Billboards’ contemporary jazz charts and remained on the charts for several months. A live performance of the song (with T.O.P.s’ trumpeter Lee Thornburg providing a spicy and spirited vocal) has been featured in a video, produced by the A&E Channel, of the 1992 Newport Jazz Festival, which aired nationally on A&E and PBS, as well as overseas.

1993 - Placed two ballads, including the title cut on vocalist Michael E. Williams’ debut CD, "The Best Is Yet To Come". 1990 - Co-wrote 4 songs with Polygram/ Mercury blues artist and Grammy Award winner Robert Cray and his band. 1991 - Took Third Place in the ‘Pop Category" of Billboard Magazines’ Songwriters Contest 91’ for the song "Ready Or Not".

Tim was born and grew up in Seattle, Washington. After high school, he immediately started his career as a professional musician. He also began 12 years of study with renowned voice teacher, the late George Peckham. He has resided in Los Angeles, CA. since 1985.
