What is also worth noting with this example is that Edison did not invent the first electric light bulb, but instead invented the first commercially practical incandescent light. This is the difference between invention and innovation.
Making change familiar
He also made it accessible and understandable to the audience by referencing what they already were familiar with. Too much newness at all levels is often difficult to be adopted. Adoption is the key to commercial success.

2015 Target sold its pharmacy service to CVS, who have ceased using the unique bottle. Target is seeing a steady decline in footfall within stores, and this is not helping. It was so popular that many are urging CVS to bring back the bottle!CVS said it stopped using Targets bottles because its more efficient to use the same bottles at all locations.
