task to suggest anything new Stillttfere is one consolatory aspect in thesituation which must appear to theview of the public journalist and thatis that a good time may be comingwhen this Kingdom may be less impe-

cunious

in respect to providing fornecessities and not so lavish in procuring show and luxury In that periodhoped for those things tlut have beenmade conspicuous in the times preced-

ing

as national wants mill stand thebest chance of early adoption Thisthought is reassuring to the advocate ofimprovements now lacking

Witheut fear of having its typesthrown into the bay by an angry mobthe Herald would suggest the nccesiity of adding a very useful official tothe grand army of office holders theusefulness of many of whom is in in-

tion of extracts and poisons A shorttune ago it was reported that agentswere on the ground trying to sell theformula for bogus milk and possiblysome of the poorer classes of residentsare now being starved or sickeped totheir death from the mixture Thenthere is no doubt that much of thesolid food supplies put on the markethere are unfit for human food it is

needless to suggest particulars of whichto a community in possession of eyes4iosesand palates With a publicanalyst and a vigilant Hoard of Healthstaff to procure him material the cemmunity might be saved untold imposi ¬

tion in the form of spurious and un-

that his extensive taro plantationwas being devastated Our reporter atonce engaged one of the HawaiianHotel carriages and was soon speedingup the Ewa road Rain was beatingon the carriage roof and brilliant light-

flashed up ahead over the Ewahills So heavy had the downpourbeen nearly all the previous day nndnight however the road was for themost part washed of its deep rairc andthe hack went along gaily

task to suggest anything new Stillttfere is one consolatory aspect in thesituation which must appear to theview of the public journalist and thatis that a good time may be comingwhen this Kingdom may be less impe-

in respect to providing fornecessities and not so lavish in procuring show and luxury In that periodhoped for those things tlut have beenmade conspicuous in the times preced-

as national wants mill stand thebest chance of early adoption Thisthought is reassuring to the advocate ofimprovements now lacking

Witheut fear of having its typesthrown into the bay by an angry mobthe Herald would suggest the nccesiity of adding a very useful official tothe grand army of office holders theusefulness of many of whom is in in-

tion of extracts and poisons A shorttune ago it was reported that agentswere on the ground trying to sell theformula for bogus milk and possiblysome of the poorer classes of residentsare now being starved or sickeped totheir death from the mixture Thenthere is no doubt that much of thesolid food supplies put on the markethere are unfit for human food it is

needless to suggest particulars of whichto a community in possession of eyes4iosesand palates With a publicanalyst and a vigilant Hoard of Healthstaff to procure him material the cemmunity might be saved untold imposi ¬
