WEDGE LOCK HAND GUARD INSTALLATION

INSTRUCTIONSAR15 & LF Models

Included with each Wedge Lock Hand Guard :

Wedge Lock Hand Guard, Barrel nut & wrench, T15 Plus or T20 Torx Wrench, Wedge set, anti-rotation pin and two 8-32 x ⅛ side set screws.

Tools Required for installation :

Torque Wrench

STEP 9 > TIGHTEN WEDGE SCREW

STEP 10 > VERIFY WEDGE INSTALLATION

STEP 11 > FINISHED

With supplied (T15 plus) Torxwrench, tighten your wedgescrew clockwise. Wedges comewith a built in stop so they cannotbe over tightened.

After your Wedges are installedand tightened, they should looklike this. (for reference only)

STEP 1 > GREASE BARREL EXTENSION STEP 5 > INSTALL WEDGES

STEP 2 > GREASE BARREL NUT STEP 6 > INSTALL ANTI-ROTATION PIN

STEP 3 > INSTALL BARREL NUT STEP 7 > INSTALL HAND GUARD

STEP 4 > INSTALL GAS TUBE & BLOCK STEP 8 > INSTALL SET SCREW

Prepare barrel extension for installation into upper receiver. Assembly grease or lithium based grease is preferred.

Install the wedges into yourhand guard, in the appropriatedirection. Wedges come pre-installed in the released position,from ZEV Technologies, to aid inyour assembly.

Prepare barrel nut for installation using a small amount of grease or lithium based grease is preferred.

Install the supplied anti-rotationpin in the pre-drilled hole of yourupper.

NOTE: If your upper does nothave this pre-drilled hole, theWedge Lock hand guard will stillfit and function with your upper.

Tighten your barrel nut onto your upper using the supplied barrel wrench ONLY.

Torque setting for tightening is 65 ft. lbs. To insure a proper seat, torque to tighten, loosen and torque again.

Install the Wedge Lock handguard over the barrel and barrelnut. Align upper rail to WedgeLock rail.

Install gas tube and block.

NOTE: No timing or clocking is needed for this style of barrel nut.

Install side set screws by usinga 5/64 Allen wrench. The use oflow strength Loctite 222MS isrecommended. Tighten screwsjust so they bottom and go ¼turn past tight ONLY, do not overtighten.

Install the supplied anti-rotation pin in the pre-drilled hole of your upper.

NOTE: If your upper does not have this pre-drilled hole, the Wedge Lock hand guard will still fit and function with your upper.

Tighten your barrel nut onto yourupper using the supplied barrelwrench ONLY.

Torque setting for tightening is65 ft. lbs. To insure a proper seat,torque to tighten, loosen andtorque again.

Install the Wedge Lock hand guard over the barrel and barrel nut. Align upper rail to Wedge Lock rail.
