NUTRITION PROGRAM:
Attention All Families:
Everyone needs to fill out and return an Application for Educational
Benefits EACH SCHOOL YEAR (even if your student brings a bag
lunch or eats lunch elsewhere).
Federal and state funding for our school is dependent on the return of ALL
applications .
School Breakfast is FREE to all and is served from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m.
Student Lunch cost is $2.35 which includes milk, fruit, vegetable, meat or
meat alternate, and bread.
Prepaid Lunch Accounts—Families can prepay their student’s lunch ac-
count by bringing in a check or cash to the lunchroom coordinator or you
may enroll on-line: http://www.pamslunchroom.com
Free/Reduced Lunches may be available. The Nutrition Center for Min-
neapolis Public Schools sends out applications at the beginning of August.
We ask that all families return Free and Reduced lunch forms. They can be
returned to the Nutrition Center in the self-addressed stamped envelope
they provide. This information is used by the state and school district to
determine part of our funding. Many families qualify for free or reduced
lunches. Some parents/guardians will already have received a letter from
Hennepin County for their child to receive free or reduced cost meals.
Open Campus—Eligible students may go outside at lunch. 9th grade stu-
dents are blocked from leaving at lunch during their 1st quarter at South but
will be eligible if they meet the criteria set in the student handbook.

Parents United for South High
Attention South High Parents:
PUSH needs your involvement and leadership this Fall!
Connecting and working together as parents is a good way to support our students and the school. PUSH needs parent leadership for
the 2014-2015 school year, and we invite you to get involved. Meetings are in the South High Media Center on the second Monday
of each month, with a light dinner at 6 pm followed by the meeting at 6:30 pm.
PUSH is an important resource and a powerful way for parents to connect with other parents, school administration and the school
community as a whole. PUSH is much more than a booster club for South—our mission is to support communication between home
and school; to encourage parents/guardians to be involved at South; to educate ourselves on topics of interest as parents; and to cre-
ate ways for every family and student to have a social connection to the school community and feel a valued member and participant
within it!
Come to our first meeting, and become a part of PUSH!
