Legislative Liaison Training Sessions
Does your school have a legislative liaison? It should! It is critical that Indiana's non-public schools are prepared to engage legislatively in support of schools and the many students who attend them now and in the future. Legislative Liaisons are INPEA's grassroots network. We anticipate that the 2015 General Assembly session will be a difficult one. It is important that we have structures in place so that the non-public schools voice be heard. With that in mind, INPEA is scheduling regional trainings for liaisons and other interested school leaders (e.g., board members, parent association officers, school administration). Listed below are a tentative list of dates. A few sites still need to be confirmed. Please work to make sure your school is well represented. November 11, 6-7:30pm, Evansville (Catholic Center) November 17, 7-8pm, Fort Wayne (Concordia Lutheran High School) November 18, Indianapolis (To be determined) November 25, 6:30-7:30pm, Kokomo (St. Joan of Arc - South Campus) December 4, New Albany (To be determined) December 9, South Bend December 10, 6-7:30pm, Merrillville (Our Lady of Consolation Parish Hall) Email Rose at [email protected] for additional training session details.

Recognizing the need for transformational school leaders in Catholic schools across the country, the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education, or ACE, founded the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program in 2002. Mary Ann Remick of Rochester, MN, graciously endowed the Program, making it possible for aspiring school leaders to receive world-class leadership formation at an affordable cost. In gratitude for Mary Ann’s commitment to the future of Catholic school leadership, the program was renamed the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program.

Jupiter Grade book & report cards. MSP/Jupiter Other Data systems MSP Report Cards
.
Other Data Management System Researched: School Speak (standard based Report Card Used by entire diocese of Columbus Sycamore used by diocese of Orange California Other Data Management used by other Archindy School RENWeb Owned by FACTS AscendSMS completely Fee service in Cincy Current systems used in Arch schools: Power School BlackBaud Harmony Schoolmessenger
Survey Summary 40 school submitted Comments Summary is that some want immediate customer service. Unrealistic for OCE to continue to file DOE reports. Robin does a great job ! There is overwhelming support of Jupiter Grades There is little desire to maintain relationship with MSP Critical to daily school operations are: Grade Book /Report Card, DOE reporting SMS parent text (School Reach module on MSP) Email blast (School Reach module.) Progress reports and attendance are valued Although many schools have DMC’s some do not. Most want to leave MSP These features are seen as critical and other features are not used or not seen as important
1. DOE reporting outside vendor at ($1500-$4000) 2. OCE/DOE reporting (status quo) 3. Continue with MSP if at 10/child rate 4. DOE reporting school level with OCE technical support
and monitoring 5. Jupiter Gradebook use with MSP module use
(approximately $14 per student) 6. Separate data management vendor. No OCE support. 7. DOE report filing training and support (cost minimal
per school)
For remaining 2014-2015 School year. We will continue Jupiter training We will notify MSP that we wish to cancel current relationship on a diocesan level. Begin migration of student data from MSP to Jupiter. Investigate alternative communication tools. (email, texts) Investigate NCEA reporting tool for Jupiter
2015-2016 Jupiter Student data management including DOE filing Investigate alternative method of DOE and NCEA data submission? Begin implementation plan for Archdiocesan wide data management. Assist schools with 3rd party DOE submission and training (Meredith Bovin)
Future decisions? MSP and Jupiter Modular approach
Discussion with MSP to include any school wishing to stay next year. This would include yearly contract and direct billing to school. (rate to be determined.) One data system for all elementary school is widely accepted best practice, however problematic. 2-3 year implementation with pilot schools High schools have different needs. Does OCE develop own DOE reporting tool with mandated use. Data Management vendors must be able to support the Archdiocesan Standards Based Report Card. Continued training and parent education is needed.
If you haven’t joined the learning community through IDOE Learning Connection do so!
