RUMA AWARDAbout the Artist The Ruma Award is given annually to the most promising Mississippi Filmmaker. Clay Hardwick is an artist, filmmaker, and editor who lives and works in Jackson, Mississippi. He is an alumni of Mill-saps College where he studied Digital Art. Clay - aka “echomech Creative” - is currently freelancing as a videographer and video editor out of TurnUp Studios in Midtown Jackson. He spends the rest of the time as an abstract painter and travels the country on his art bus.

About the Piece:The Ruma Award painting is from acrylic, aerosol, and pen on stretched canvas. While an abstract work, the piece suggests a composition of two colorful, winding roads crossing at the middle and going off into the distant horizon. Dark, textured tones suggest the dark soil of the Delta. *Clay won the Crossroads Ruma Award in 2005 and 2009. His web site is www.echomech.com
