Executive Committee

Letter from our President

Well it looks like Spring is here to stay—hopefully for a very long time!

I love the Spring green of the new leaves that seem to suddenly cover tree branches. And then there are all the bright colored Spring flowers dancing in the breezes. The birds are busy with their excited chatter

and songs. It seems like such a happy, busy time of year for nature!

We too, in WoW, have lots coming up to keep us busy and to enjoy and to celebrate:

Make your April 20th Fashion Show luncheon reservation now so you won’t miss the fun! If you pay by by April 1st you’ll be entered in a drawing

for a nice prize from Dilliards.

Plan to attend our Special Event April 5 for lunch and the Rienzi House Tour. It’s so much fun to carpool to Houston and tour with friends!

Save the Date for a couples and singles Happy Hour Celebration Sunday May 21 at Churrasco’s on the Waterway, 4-6 PM.

Please thank your Activity Chairs for organizing the groups you’ve at-tended this year. If they are stepping down & need a replacement, definitely consider chairing or co-chairing next year. We only have groups that have a chairperson .

Getting to Know You...Diane FinnDiane was born in Muncie, Indiana. She attended Marymount College in Boca Raton, Flori-

da where she met her husband, Andy. They have lived all over the United States from Orlando, FL to Washington, D.C. to Las Vegas, NV and several points in between. Diane moved to The Woodlands four years ago from Park City, Utah. They have four children, their two oldest, John and Sarah, live in Chicago. Katelyn lives in Maui, HI, where she will be married this June. Their youngest son, Ryan, is a senior at College Park H.S. They have three grandchildren in Illinois, who they love to visit. Diane has a need to be creative in her spare time. When she lived in North Carolina she owned

a business where she repurposed everything from furniture to lamps to just about anything with good bones. She is currently using her creativity as WoW’s Publicity Chair! “I have loved every minute of being in the Newcomers club of The Woodlands. The friendships that I am developing are very special to me.”

Luisa MejiaLuisa is originally from Colombia, but grew up in Europe where her father, who is a writer

and diplomat, brought their family when she was a teenager. She returned to Colombia to study law and met and her husband while living in the Ca-ribbean city of Cartagena. Her husband’s work brought them to Brazil and there she specialized in environmental law. In 2001 their family moved again, this time to United States! They lived in Michigan for 6 years where she had the opportunity to learn and experience American culture and adapted to her new country. In 2008 they were on the road again, this

time to The Woodlands. Here she joined WOW and “I found a wonderful group of ladies that make you feel that you’re a in the right place; the warmth and friendship that I have found in the club is something that you really appreciate when you spend most of your life traveling and living in different places, it tells you that you are in right place.”
