Led Texas American settlers in rebellion against the Mexican government. He defeated and captured Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto and forced him to sign a treaty granting Texas it’s independence.

is the most famous battle of the Texas Revolution. Despite the Texan’s brave resistance, Santa Anna’s forcers were too strong. Every Texan who fought at the Alamo perished in the battle including the famous Davey Crockett. “Remember The Alamo” became a rallying cry for the Texas Revolution.

is the peace treaty, largely dictated by the United States to the interim government of a militarily occupied Mexico, that ended the Mexican-American War (1846–1848). The treaty provided for the Mexican Cession, in which Mexico ceded 1.36 million km² to the United States in exchange for US$15 million. American received parts of the modern-day U.S. states of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming, as well as the whole of California, Nevada, and Utah. The addition of all this new land raised the question of whether these territories would be free or slave.
