CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Report by Louis Bage Year 6:

I really enjoyed the Christmas Bazaar this year, for the first time I helped out on a stall in the Year 6 Games Room.

It was fun being able to wander around and see all the people you know. There was a good atmosphere in the school because everyone was excited about Christmas.

I enjoyed the chocolate tombola as I love chocolate and seeing Santa was really fun. When we told him what we are doing for Christmas, his hat fell off in shock!

The cakes and mince pies were very enjoyable, and I taste tested quite a few.

I can't wait for next year's Christmas Bazaar, even though I won't be in the school any more. Merry Christmas everyone.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR Report by Evie Bage Year 5:

There was a lot to do in every classroom, and in the hall even more. Everyone at the stalls were very happy and enthusiastic.

In the Year Six classroom there were all sorts of games to play, like Play your cards right, Speed stacks and Roll the dice. Also some of the Year Six's and Year Five's were helping out at the stalls. My friends and I had a go at running a stall, it was great fun.

The Year Four classroom had exciting crafts, from decorating little boxes to making Christmas bells.

In the Year Three classroom there was a selection of things to do like face painting, glitter tattoos and children’s tombola.

Lastly in the hall there were stalls like the chocolate tombola (YUM!), name a teddy bear and lots more. One of my favourite things was Santa’s Grotto. Santa was so shocked when we told him we were going to New Zealand, his hat fell off.

I hope that next year's Bazaar is as successful as this years. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Thank you to everyone’s contributions however big or small. They all helped to make the Christmas Bazaar a success and helped the HSA to raise money to hopefully enable us to buy 3 more laptops for our children, to add to the 6 we have already provided this term.

Lets keep fundraising as more laptops are needed due to class sizes and computer breakdowns!

CHRISTMAS CRAFT CLUB Report by Jack Andersen Y4 & Charlie Wise Y4: At the Christmas craft club we made Christmas tags, reindeer dust made with oats, coloured rice and glitter, Christmas cards, wrapping paper, clay reindeers and 3D paper snowflakes. Our favourite part was the 3D paper snowflakes because it was fun and detailed. Also we sold some of the things that we made at the Christmas Bazaar.

CHRISTMAS TREE APPEAL Miss Fytche, once again, organised the ‘Christmas Tree Appeal’ in school (area coordination being undertaken by the Rotary Club of Stamford St Martins).

This project supports families in difficult circumstances in our local community by providing gifts at Christmas for their children, many of whom would otherwise receive nothing.

98 gifts were generously donated by parents.

COMPUTINGYears 1- 6 have been enjoying work relating to computer programming. The school works closely with ‘Enriched IT’, a company based in Market Deeping. Y1 use ‘people programming’ to develop a set of instructions to achieve a simple practical task and this is further developed through the use of software for developing routines for ‘on-screen’ robots. The work encourages problem solving and logic for solving simple problems. It is the school’s intention to extend Information and Communication Technology studies in all year groups during the coming months.

The photograph shows Year 5 enjoying some work on computer programming.
