Show Info
…and Happy Father’s Day
Our show is just around the corner so now we need to turn up the heat for pre-registration for our show. You know I beat you all up at this time of
the year but we need to reach our goal of (70) members in the bank. Please go to page nine, fill out the show form and mail your check to Dennis.
While you‘re writing your check why not include a few Paso‘s more for ―Building Homes for Heroes‖.
On the other side of the coin, your $15.00 will entitle you to a theme T-Shirt, with our three sponsors on the back along with the Motor Mouth
Radio logo. Our charity again this year, as in the past, is the ―Building Homes for Heroes‖, with its logo right in the middle of our three advertis-
ers. At the top of the shirt will be our sponsor: ―Siben & Siben including all their contact info.
Show awards this year will be plaques again. First place is bigger, second place is smaller and etc. This year, along with the Jackets for Best in
Show there will also be a Best in Show for the Shelby Mustang Club and we will also include plaques for those winners. I have also invited a ven-
dor that we see every year at the North Jersey Thunderbird Show.
This year‘s show T-Shirt color will be Sapphire Blue. It‘s a darker blue but the ladies will love the color. My next job is being a judge on the
Model Runway show.
Workshop Hero/Division of Armor Protective Packaging: Sherri Hicks reached out to me months ago, and wanted our show to be involved in
their product. She sent a sample pack which I gave to Bob Marketta to see how it does. Bob has yet to use it, but she promised to give us stuff for
our show. See their flyer in the extra pages of this newsletter.
2018 Golden Quill Award: Well, we did not get the big prize but Art got Honorable Mention.
Well Done: Here is an interesting story which pertains to pre-registering for our show. Nancy Rajowski just sent Dennis Benfante a check for the
show…. $15.00 for the show and $10.00 for our charity. As Dennis was updating his spread sheet he then realized that Nancy had all ready signed
up for the show. So he called to tell her, and she said ―give it to the charity‖. That‘s called an ‗atta boy thank you‘!
The Barf Project
With Ford Nationals only a heartbeat away, All Thunderbird Alliance members are preparing to make YKW‘s visit to Carlisle, PA as uncomfort-
able as possible, and for the whole world to see what a piece of work he is, because it is all about himself.
We have been working on our game plan for months. We have created a document which will be distributed at Carlisle at the ITC tent showing all
of his accomplishments since he took over the ITC three years ago. The same document will be turned into poster size and displayed at the Lehigh
Valley/All Thunderbird Alliance tent so everyone can see it. I love when a plan come together. I wonder who said that………
Hemmings Motor News/ June Issue: In this issue of HMN and in Richard Lentinelio‘s column. He mentions some dates and shows during the
upcoming show season that he will be attending. He is coming to Princeton, New Jersey in August for the VTCI convention. That‘s the same date
as the ITC convention, and is YKW really going to be upset. Too freaking bad……….
HELP WANTED
It‘s simple if you want to volunteer and help on July 7th. …just show up at Key Food Shopping Center at 6 AM. Yep, 6 AM with a smile….
Bertucci’s in Melville: Bertucci‘s in Melville has closed. I‘m open for suggestions for indoor meetings which start in September.

President Message Continued from Page 3
Alan Leon - Mr. BP: On Friday, April 26th, Alan surfaced with a surprise for me. He promised me at last year‘s show that he would rent a mo-
torized scooter for me so I would not have to walk around when I start out to collect monies for the 50/50. If you remember the line in Blazing
Saddles when Madeline Kahn got to see Cleavon Little‘s you know what, she yelled: ―It‘s true – it‘s true‖! Well, it is true and I love this guy!
Welcome Aboard: Allen Lipp from Oceanside and his 1957 Dusk Rose Thunderbird and Alan Naphanson with his fleet of birds: ‗60, ‗64 and
‗66. Alan is from Dix Hills.
Sunday May 19th/National Thunderbird Appreciation Day/KP NY: No wetness today and a great turnout for both Clubs. Twenty six birds in
total, fourteen for TONY, and twelve for us. Bob Marketta AKA ―Mr. Music entertained us with his excellent selection of oldies but goodies.
Last year we had almost forty birds, but this Sunday there were at least ten shows on the island. We bought pizza from Gino‘s and their manager,
Mike gave us a great discount on the pies, and a gift certificate for the show for fifty big ones. We did a 50/50 which helped defray the cost of the
pizza. Personally, for yours truly, my stepdaughter Keren, brought my Grandson, Noah to the event. He mingled with the troops, and became a
social butterfly for most of his visit. Overall, no reported injuries …a great day in the sun.
Attendees: Not in any order. Frank Carinale, Alan Nathionson a new member and brought his ‗66 convertible. Gorgeous car and his picture is in
our extra pages of this issue. Henry and Nancy Rajowski, Larry Werlstell AKA Mr. Trophy, Walter Stoeber, Ken Weinberg, John Guiliano, Dar-
ryl Dowers, Art Fleming our EIC, Bob Marketta AKA Mr. Music, Peter Lange, and Lou Cortegiano.
North Jersey Thunderbird Show/Saturday, June 8, 2019: It‘s $15.00 if you pre-register, and $20.00 at the gate. If you are interested in go-
ing, call me so we can caravan as a group to the show. In the extra pages of this newsletter is their registration form. We meet at the police bar-
racks on the SSP at around 6:45 a.m. SHARP, and then off to Pompton Plains. The trip takes about an hour and fifteen minutes, (last year we
made it in less than an hour - I did not think my car could go that fast) and we usually stop at the local bagel place in Pompton Plains for break-
fast on the way to the show. Don’t forget to bring your EZ Pass.
Police Surgeon’s Benevolent Association Car Show/Sunday, June 2, 2019 @ St. Anthony’s High School in Dix Hills: I have pre-registered,
how about you? The St. Anthony‘s show is for a good cause and if you‘re thinking of coming, let us know so we can park together.
Saturday, June 8th/ Covenant Church East Northport: For those of you, who are not going to North Jersey. here is an alternative event. A
good friend of ours, Ernie Mohlmann is hosting an event with his church and is looking for cars for the day. There is no charge and food will be
available for consumption also at no charge to you. Hours are 8:30 AM to 2 PM. The address is 203 Cedar Road at the corner of Cedar and Corn-
flower.
Thursday, June 20th - Outdoor Meeting @ Kings Park Plaza: This is a regular cruise night and I‘m there almost every week. There are a
nice bunch of people and vehicles there. Also, the Merchants and the Chamber of Commerce support this event. There is pizza, the Professors
Diner, and Chinese food to eat, so you will not go hungry. This location will be our venue for our Thunderbird Ford Show. Remember this is an
informal meeting. …No real theme, just hanging out while we talk cars.
Directions: Heading north on the Sunken Meadow Parkway, get off at Indian Head Road. Continue north on IH for about three miles until you
see the shopping center on your left. If you hit the RR tracks you went too far.
…and you‘re welcome…

GROUP LIFT PURCHASE Is anyone interested in buying a 4-post lift for their garage? I am refurbishing my garage, and have done some research on lifts. I have settled on the Backyard Buddy 7,000lb.
Standard Lift. BYB can store 2 cars in the space of one, requiring just 9' wide, 16' long, 9' ceiling height, and a 120V outlet to store one car above another car, where the lower car is
60" at its highest point or less (e.g. my 1970 Boss 302 on top of my 2013 Boss 302, for ex-ample). The lift is made in Warren, OH, has the best construction & lift locking system in my
opinion, offers jacks, drip pans, and wheels for movement, and offers the best warranty I can find. Go to their website & see for yourself www.backyardbuddy.com. It is also probably the
most expensive 4-post lift at $4,595. But I want one! I would like to assemble a group of 10 or more car guys living here on Long Island who
would like to buy this lift this summer. Then I intend to take the order to the All Ford Nation-als (June 2-4), where Backyard Buddy will have a booth. My theory is in addition to the
$300 - 400 show special, I can negotiate a volume price delivered to one "area". By negoti-ating a group purchase discount added to the reduced freight and the show special, I am go-
ing to try to knock $ 500 - 1,000 off the standard retail price of the lift.
Please realize (1) You will still have to pay someone to install the lift at your home ($500 -
1,000), (2) You will have to modify your garage door tracks to clear the lift (~$200), (3) There is no guarantee of the final price; I can only try to get the $1,000 discount I seek. But
10 units should get us some discount; 20+ units will entice the manufacture to give a sub-stantial discount. As an additional incentive, I would invite the Backyard Buddy Marketing
team to come to Long Island and talk to / interview those who participated for their advertis-ing testimonials.
Please contact me by phone or email (below) with any questions, giving me your name, your
email address, phone, and address as confirmation you are willing to spend the necessary funds in June-July. Thank you!
