Cataract is a curable eye condition with the proper treatment. But in a country like Indonesia where the minimum wage per month is under USD150, mostof the sufferers can’t afford the surgery and as result remain blind for the most of their life.
If that’s not tragic enough, the surgery itself comprises a simple procedure that takes a mere
twenty minutes and it can completely restore vision.
Helen Keller International is an organization that mission is to save and improve the sight and lives of the world’s vulnerable. They envision a world where no one suffers from preventable or treatable blindness, low vision, or malnutrition.
Through the Eyes of the Loved Ones is a design project made to spread awareness about cataract.
This project focuses on the perspective of the ‘Loved Ones’ instead of the sufferers. For the condition will not only affect oneself, but also those closest to them.
