Live Type

This was our first outcome of our typography which was created by Live Type. We created this type of font to create a distorted sense to match the concept of our thriller and also we placed it on the black background to emphasize our title sequence. However the audience disliked this effect for instance someone said “It does not fit the thriller genre”. This made us change our title sequence.

This was our second attempt with our main thriller title sequence we thought if we placed our establishing shot of the buildings as the background will make our opening sequence look professional. However the audience stated “It seems to fit to more of the sci –fi genre”.

This was our final thriller title sequence. We used a more standard font to create a sense of realism and to not over power our scenery in the back. The audience stated that this was “more simple and more pleasing”. We didn’t change this as the feedback on it was great and us as a group admired the typography

Quality

This was our first video footage of the props scene. We used a DV camera to record this part of the clip. However the audience did not like this for instance one of our peers said “ the quality is poor and very hard to see”. This made us change our footage as we wanted our thriller to look very professional.

At this part we used a HD camera due to our recent critics. The HD camera helped refine our footage and made it look professional it especially helped with the color and created a more thriller aspect as now the audience can see everything clearly. The audience loved the quality for example they said “now we can see the opening clearly and looks very professional”.

Our Main Title

This was our first “Restricted” title that we were initially using within our thriller. We felt as it seemed to horror like, as the whole “broken” effect didn’t anchor the title itself. Furthermore our decision was further influenced due to the fact that our audience feedback seemed to feel that ,much like the character titles it seemed to “bold” or to “defining”, which resulted us in changing it to the title below.

This was our final thriller title that we used, and we decided to go with that as it seemed more effective and a lot more simple, which we believe didn’t look anything like a horror title. In addition I feel that it has more of a moralistic meaning conveyed throughout the film, as well as the fact that we got very positive feedback with blueprint effect that we added, such as “awesome” and “while the title isn’t as bold or defining as the old one I think it draws in the audiences attention a lot more and seemed more aesthetically pleasing”.
