    Central Africa Mission Evangelistic Literature Service, better known asC.A.M.E.L.S., publishes song books, lesson materials, tracts, baptismalcertificates an(jl various items for use by the Christians in southern Africa.C.A.M.E.L.S. is located in Masvlngo, Zimbabwe. It was established in1965. In the past, missionaries have purchased printed materials fromC.A.M.E.L.S. for distribution to churches and evangelists. With thematuration of t^ church in Zimbabwe, we now see local Christians buyingthese printed materials for their own use. C.A.M.E.L.S. prints materials inEnglish, Shoria, Ndebele, Tonga and other indigenous languages.C.A.M.E.L.S. also does some commercial printing work. This enables theprint shop to subsidize the cost of mission printing, employ more peopleand have a strong financial base that depends less on mission support.C.A.M.E.L.S. presently employs five full-time workers, who are members oflocal congregations. Much of the commercial printing is for missioninstitutions (hos|pitals and schools) and various church groups.In January 1993 Marcia Kay Thomson became manager of C.A.M.E.L.S.After learning njiore about the printing process and the use of a Macintoshcomputer for origination and layout she restructured the organization oftheprint shop.
