You have not ^ Singing at the Graduation Service are the six students that completed their studies in April 1988. ZIMBABWE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE GRADUATION )N In April we had a graduation service. Six students completed their three years of study at the college. Three of these are making plans to go to Kentucky Christian College and complete their studies there. (Martin Lawrence in white jacket and Mashoko Twins on the ends, in the picture) Martin Lawrence is teaching first year students this term (May-August) to get a taste of teaching before he goes to KCC. He plans to teach at ZCC after he finishes. Two of the students that completed their studies last year returned after a year of practicalexperience and were given Certificates of Commendation. The chairman of the Advisory Board for Christian Education in Zimbabwe came and presented an Instructor's Certificate in Religious Studies to each of the eight that completed their class work this year or last year and did their practice teaching. /he second and ih'rd yej^r students and some part time students had taken a course on how to teach literacy. TEACHING AT ZCC The class of 14 that 'taught last year have completed their class work for Christian Education and are now doing their practice teaching at Widdecombe School. We go on Monday mornings and cover 12 classes. Each week four students teach two classes and 4 teach one class. During the year they rotate so that all students will have equal opportunity. This year I also have a class of 14 but 11 of them are full time students and three are women that are part time students. During the last five years the school has had tremendous growth. 1984 5 full time students 1985 10 full time students 1986 23 full time students 1987 32 full time students 4 part time students 36 total (3 female) 1988 38 full time students 8 part time students 46 total (7 female) Even with the new classrooms In use every corner of the building seems to be used. CHURCH MEMBERS LEAVE HARARE The Bacon ^mily have been in the congregation here longer than anyone except the Penningtons. They have left for Springdale College in England. We will miss them as teachers and leaders. The prayer group that met in their home has now divided into two homes. May God bless them in their training. Donald is b^ng transferred to Mutare. He is from Mashoko and has been the church songleader, a leader of YP one of group at*Mlam^4'^ho^J^^^ leader in the university age group, a leader in the singles group and the leader of the prayer
