3 Observer Navigating the Site – Home Page The Home Page opens after logging in. The Dashboard displays your Learners and observations in a grid, allowing you to view, manage and schedule observations. All new observations are created in the Dashboard. The navigation bar at the top allows you to navigate to the site's main sections, and access areas and features that have been enabled by your district. Take a quick home page tour by reviewing the screenshot and accompanying highlights below
Dashboard
Change default view to Observer Click on your name in the top right corner to open up a drop down menu. Select Profile. This will open your profile settings. Make sure Observer is highlighted in blue. Then click Save

4 Key Features: Navigation Bar
Click the tabs to go to the site section you wish to visit. Available sections are determined by both your role and the features enabled by your district.
Settings and Help
Click Help to view all help files. Click your name to update your profile; sign out; and transition between Learner and Observer (if applicable).
Learners
All of your Learners display in the top row. • Scroll to view additional Learners. • Learners’ observations display in the column
under their pictures. • Click a Learner’s picture to open his/her profile.
Learner Search
Use any portion of the Learner’s first or last name to find a Learner. Bloomboard filters the view to just the Learner’s observations.
Observation/Meetings
Learner observations / meetings are grouped by type. Collapse or expand the types to control your view of observations. • Click a right facing arrow to open and view all of
the year’s observations. • Click a bottom facing arrow to collapse and hide
an observation type’s observations. Dashboard
Use to create new and view existing observations for Learners. • Observations are color-‐coded to indicate their
status. • Click an observation to open it.
5 Scheduling Observations and Meetings Bulk Scheduling In the All Learners column, click the Schedule button of the appropriate observation or meeting type to open the scheduling window. In the selection window, all of your Learners display. De-‐select teachers who are not included in the scheduled activity and then click Continue. If you are scheduling a meeting, select a date and time in the schedule window that appears and then click Schedule & Finish. If the activity is a task with a due date, you may choose to send email reminders prior to the due date, and then click Schedule & Finish.

6 All learners will now have a scheduled observation or meeting. For more details, you can click on the date of a specific learner .
Individual Scheduling In the teacher's column, click the Schedule button of the appropriate observation or meeting type to open the scheduling window. If you are scheduling a meeting, select a date and time in the schedule window that appears and then click Schedule & Finish. If the activity is a task with a due date, you may choose to send email reminders prior to the due date, and then click Schedule & Finish. Only one learner will now have a scheduled observation or meeting.
7 Review and Close Click Review and Close in the Dashboard or Summary on the observation navigation bar to review and complete an observation. The Review and Finalize screen gives an overview of activity status, as well as other options you can complete prior to closing the observation. Once Close this Observation has been clicked, you have a brief window to undo and reopen. Deleting an observation Note that a deleted observation cannot be restored.

8 Click Delete to finalize or Cancel to exit deleting the observation. Rescheduling Observation and Meetings Activities From the Observation and Meeting Overview, click the date link under the activity name. Choose a date and time in the scheduling window. Click Reschedule when you are finished. You can post date. It just asks if you need a time machine.
9 Teacher Dashboard Click on a teacher’s picture to open up his or her dashboard. Aggregated Evidence and Ratings, Goals, and MSLs can only be seen from the teacher dashboard. All other activities can be accessed through the Observer dashboard. Aggregated Evidence and Ratings – Teacher Rubric Click Visit Learner’s Portfolio.
Add ratings throughout the year. Your ratings are reflected as a solid box. Teacher self assessment ratings are reflected as a square icon if they have been shared with you.

Click boxes to add ratings. Teacher ratings will be the last column in which all professional practices have been checked.
11 Creating Snapshots Snapshots are created in the AE&R screen and allow you to capture and save a learner’s trending rating at a particular time. A snapshot creates a static view of the summative ratings you create in AE&R, but any underlying ratings will change as users modify them. Snapshots are saved so you can view them later. 1. After you have applied ratings in the AE&R screen, click Create Snapshot.
2. Enter a name for the snapshot. 3. If desired, filter evidence or historical ratings by deselecting options. 4. Click Create Snapshot to create the snapshot or click Cancel to exit the process.
Reviewing Goals From the dashboard, click the learner whose goals you wish to view. Click View Details on the goal to view the goal details or click the Goal Planning note to see all goals, along with your teacher's self-‐identified strength and growth areas. Specifics around teacher goals can be viewed here. All components should be complete. Only teachers can edit their own goals.

1. Assign all teachers a self assessment using either bulk scheduling or individual scheduling with a due date of September 26.
2. Select an individual teacher. 3. Check status. 4. Review shared teacher ratings if available. 5. Add relevant documents (optional).

13 Schedule Observations/Walkthroughs and add feedback
1. Schedule an observation or walkthrough using individual scheduling. Time and date can be edited after the fact. You can post date observations.
2. Select an individual teacher. Click Classroom Observation to add notes and tag evidence within Bloomboard. Click Documents to upload other forms of feedback. Note: Walkthrough overview will look slightly different, but has all of the same features.
Classroom Observations Quickfire mode lets you tag as you type. Click on Activities to move between classroom observation and documents

1. Schedule a Goal Conference for each teacher using individual scheduling. 2. Select an individual teacher. Select any activity to take you to the Goal-‐Setting Conference
