A collection of my most significant written work from 2011-13.

I am a permanent writer and subeditor for this stylish new football fanzine. The first

digital issue from 06.05.13 can be viewed here including my contribution Loan

Rangers.

I wrote about my memories of a cup final as a seven year old from 24.05.13.

Contributed to a season’s fixtures preview on 17.06.13.

During my employment at the London Borough of Bromley Council I displayed

my flair for creativity and design and subsequently created a wide variety of fly-

ers, quizzes for school children and road safety posters. All of these documents

are in this Google Docs folder.

Review of The Invisible Way album by Low (05.04.13) on this highly regarded

music site.

Subsequently, during a week of work experience between 29.04.13 and 03.05.13

I had fourteen pieces published on the site, which are listed here and here.

Review of April March & Aquaserge (11.06.13).

Two articles published in the 4.9.2011 edition:

Traders recover from riot

Race-goer Matt wins the girl of his dreams.

I have written over twenty articles for this fanzine in both the print issues and online.

Get Confident Stupid! Palace Can Go Up If They Remain Positive (18.04.13).

Watching Palace from Afar – Asia (13.12.12).

Freedman: Palace Players will be Extra Motivated for Charlton Clash – a press

conference report (13.09.12).

Freedman Needs Time, but we Need New Signings (22.08.12).

FYP’s Season Preview – Various contributions (11.08.12).

My FYP Top 50 Players Countdown contributions: Andy Gray, Nigel Martyn,

David Payne, Terry Long, Peter Simpson, Julian Speroni, David Hopkin, Albert

Harry & Billy Calendar (03.07.12 - 28.07.12).

Get Your Kit On (04.05.12).

Chris Martin Revisited (04.05.12).

It’s Only a Cup… (!9.01.12).

Top 5 Darren Ambrose Goals (08.12.11).

The United Challenge (29.11.11).

Top 5 Millwall Clashes (25.11.11).

My Favourite Palace Moment No.1: Play Off Final 1997 (13.11.11)

Life Can Be Ruff As Underdogs, But Palace Fans Are Wolfing It Down (07.11.11).

If You Build It They Will Come, And Beat You 3-1 (13.10.11).

Crystal Palace F.C. Official Programme

The final match day programme of the 2011/12 season included my four-

page article documenting a famous club rivalry and reflections on a game

between the two teams earlier in the season.

The three pieces I’m most proud of from my degree at the University of Sussex are:

My main dissertation Inebriated Ireland: The Presence of Alcohol in Early

Twentieth Century Irish Short Fiction.

Another essay from my final year; Discuss the Representation of Race,

“Englishness” and Empire in Virginia Woolf’s Jacob’s Room and Mrs. Dallo-

way.

A short story I wrote called The Drowners in my second year, and it’s accompa-

nying critical essay.

I have a music blog on Tumblr called Massive Bereavement, named after an Alan

Partridge line. It’s updated frequently, focusing on music that excites me.

Combining a song with interesting photography and a minimalistic design, I let the

pictures and music speak for themselves rather than rambling too much.

I produced a review of Crystal Palace’s 2011/12 football season written for the

popular local magazine Inside Croydon.
