Shared Blessings needs you! Love Does has a new opportunity to help in the Philadelphia area. "Shared Blessings" is a community meal provided for the hungry and homeless at Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion (2101 Chestnut St in Philadelphia) each Friday at noon. St Paul’s will be preparing/serving the meal on Friday, March 17. Here's how you can help:

1. Help cook food ahead of time

2. Help serve the meal 3. Cook and serve

Do you work in Center City? Consider spending your lunch break with us serving those in need. The church is conveniently located at 21st & Chestnut Sts and you can pop over to help serve and be back to work within an hour. If you would like to help by cooking, serving, or both, please contact Lisa Diewald at: [email protected].

Our church’s Lenten Journey is based on The Book of Forgiving by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and kicks off on Sunday, March 5

th. Then we will hold small group series based on what the Tutus

refer to as the “Four Fold Path of Forgiveness.” We will spend our time working through the path along with scripture and discussion for our Lenten Journey.

Sign-up sheets are posted in the Narthex for one of several sessions that will be available. Confirmed dates for sessions are:

Women’s Bible Study on Monday mornings at 9:30am in Room 101 (starts 3/6) by Joan Adams Wednesday evenings (starts 3/8) at 7:30pm by Allison Wilcox (Same evening as the Lenten Soup

Suppers in FH.) Virtual study (Tuesday or Wednesday evenings (starting 3/7 or 3/8) by Pastor Mark Sunday between services in Room 201 (starts 3/12) by Chris Robinson Or set up a study in your own home

Copies of the book are available to purchase in the Narthex for $10, as well as information on how to purchase one yourself (or for your e-reader). We’d love to have as many in the congregation reading along as possible, even if you are not able to be part of the small group experience. If you are planning to join us in a small group, be sure to get your book ahead of time. It would be helpful to read the first section of the book before we begin, as our focus in small group will be only on the second and third sections of the book.

To purchase a book through us, please put a check for $10 made out to St. Paul’s with “Book of Forgiving” in the memo line in the offering plate, or in the church office mailbox. If paying in cash, please make sure you indicate on an envelope what the cash is for as well as your name.

Boxes Needed Social Ministry would like to fill 55 baskets for Easter dinners. Please start to save boxes for us. Ideally, we're looking for paper boxes with lids. Please check with your mailroom to see if they will put them aside for you. Having boxes that are all the same size makes it a lot easier for us to fill, stack and deliver. As you get them, please bring them to the church and we will store them in the parsonage until needed.

BCC: Summer will be here before you know it…

and with summer time, comes Bear Creek time!

Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2a)

We have been RESTORED through the sacrifice of Jesus. This summer we will dive into what this transformation means in our lives and the lives around us. Campers will be exploring, celebrating and growing in this restoration all week long! Please join us for a life changing adventure at Bear Creek Camp. Pastor Mark will be serving as Chaplin the week of June 18-24, and we would love for the children of St Paul’s to join us! Coffee Fellowship this morning is provided by Bear Creek Camp. We will have information about camp available, and we encourage parents to stop by and speak with Rebecca Cuff or Melissa Pechin about the program.
