will celebrate his silver jubilee as a priest . For thclt great occas i on, we would have liked to have with us our missionary neighbours from the South . But in the North cot.lll1Unications are easier in Harch than in r'lay , that i s the reason we had chosen i'larch 19 , Reverend Father Bourbonnais' patronal feast day , for those celebrations . But as unfavorable weather deceived our hopes , the feas t was a simple and intimate one .

W~ take the opportunity to mention that Fathbr Bourbonnais ' Missionary career is used to such disappointments . For example , the last time Father saw his venerable nother was at the time of h:;"s ordination . He ''\Tas still a young pribst when thf.- nelllS of her death reached hiw - (l full month after it had occurred -.

Ash Wednesday , February 23, was the first day of Lent . On that day our foreheads were springkl ed with a bit of ashes to remind us that I1 Dust thou art , and into dust thou shalt i~eturn ; r . If you stop and think for just a while ~ach day about the cruel sufferings which Jesus had to bear · for us - His sweat of blood, the awful scourging, crowning with thorns and cruc i­fixion - it will not be hard for you to make many little sacrifices to prove that you do love Him too .

ere are little things that all can make: Pray well, obey, give up something, be patient, go to mass often, do not complain . Make up your mind that when Easter morning comes , you will have as nany or more sacrifices than anyone of your conpanions to offer to Our Ilisen Lord .

On December 22 we all received Chr i stmas gifts . Oh t how happy we were l! !

Little Pio Janvi~r, adressed as ·Baby Jesus, gave out the surprise parcels . In mine I found a pretty Christmas card , a pencil, a whi stle, and a pink ribbon .

The teachers are to be praised for we know that it has meant many acts of patience . It was a big improvement to have been able to understand the words and to s&e the eagerness vv-ith "VIThich each child desired to appear on the stage .

February 14 was a very happy day for on that day, we received and sent Valentines . At 2 P.M. we invit­ed the other pupils to our cla ss . We sang a few Valentine songs, and then some postmen for the occasion distributed the Valentines. Oh my! but there we re manv of them . Believe ~e , the postmen we~e kept cuite busy and by the time they were through, it wac past IIhome - tiQe ll • So our teachers gav6 us del icious candies. We heart­ily thanked them and ran home to show all our Valentines to our friends .

our play , were brought in and pla ced in the central aisle of our church. Beautiful sprays of roses and c~rna­tions given as a tribute of sympathy by Sf!skatcht;wan Government Airways and by th~ Hudson Bay were laid on the coffins .

Crowds of people followed one ar other to offs r prayers for the dea r children .

On the 10th , a solemn funeral ser­vice vms held in our church for the r~pose of the souls of all the vic­tims . AnothE:;r servic e vvas held on th( 13th at which a l a.i~g<~ crowd W2S pre­sent .

The bodies of our littlE friends now lie side by side in Ollr graV~) yaFc awaiting the great day of eternal reunion .
