Gotta Grab it!Let’s see the collection

The “Gotta Grab it” (commonly also known as GGI) is a monthly event at the Gotta Pixel Store. Designers make wonderful coordinated collections by following a common palette. Each of them is free to choose a personal theme. So customers have the chance to purchase coordinated pieces under several themes and they can mix and match them as they prefer.

The happy palette suggested me something water colored. The more I was involved in the process of creation, the more I was happy. So that’s why I called this collection “This is happiness”; It’s full of joy and all those flowers are able to erase all the darkness around me. The water color technique is one of the highest ways to express feelings. Through every single spot of color I can read a story. If I look at the bird house, for example, I immediately go

to a wonderful field of grass, full of flowers, where bees and butterflies fly happily. The sound of their flyings makes the most beautiful song. And I am there, like a child, running along the field, spreading my arms to the sky and thanking the God for such a wonderful day. This is happiness.

The collection includes:

» Elements; » Papers; » Accents; » Album; » Bottom Stacks; » Clusters; » Journal Cards; » Templates.

8 Full packs for a wonderful Collection, where the Spring is saying at loud: “Do not allow to someone else to obscure the smiling on your face”; Enjoy.

Look into!

The SeparatesLet’s give a closer look

The “easy-to-work” collection

What does it mean “easy to work”? Well, as scrapper myself, I care a lot about the usability of a kit and its separates. This perfectly makes sense if you’re scrapper; Sometimes it happens that you don’t find the way to create a layout which satisfies you. You struggle with that kit, hours by hours, and you think it’s your fault. But if you’re experienced, you immediately will deduct that the kit itself is not harmonious.

A kit is like a song, all the words are i n t e r c o n n e c t e d and they enforce the meaning each other, cannot be separated, they make sense only if part of a unique piece. The same is for a kit: all the elements must be sisters and brothers and must share the same continuity and story. Even the style and the colors must follow the same feelings. Each element is linked to other and it’s the writer whose duty is make them stay well together.

This is what I define an “easy-to-work” collection. The elements and the papers of the kit fit well together and the coordinated pieces are the best extra resources to speed up the process of creation of the layout. In this case, the most helpful pieces are the Clusters and the Stacked Papers.

I didn’t create a Stacked pack here, but papers are so beautiful as they are! Open one of them and Create the rectangular shape of the photo (here

you will clip your picture); Now decorate with a few clusters and the page is done. As you can see, just through a few clicks, you can create an outstanding layout!

As you can see below, another precious pack is the “Bottom Stacks”; They’re incredibly useful to decorate a paper; Once you put it on, you’re ready to place the pictures and then you’re done! These fasteners are truly precious and help you to compose wonderful pages in the shorter time.

The Layout Gallery

As customer myself, I always love to see the layouts created by the kit. They are even more important than the preview of the kit itself, because they show up the true potentiality of creation and they turn on the light of my inspiration. For this collection , the creative team made the most awesome pages. I’ m truly amazed.

YOU CAN!

Beyond the digitalDiscover the power of the hybrid

Print and Cut: colors become objects.

I bet that as digital scrapper you rarely thought to the possibility to create something real by printing and cutting your purchased digital stuff. Personally, I purchase digital stuff just for the pleasure to print them and create wonderful hybrid projects. I created a few lovely things with “This is happiness” Collection; Let me show you.

Where to Print

I went to a local Print House. I printed my favorite papers and elements. The result was even better than expected. I loved them so much that it seemed almost a pity cutting them! But of course that was the aim, so I took my scissors. I didn’t have a precise idea, I just let my hands do the work for me. For the most, they wanted to create envelopes and tags. I especially love the “This is Happiness” tag with the bird house, (fig. 2 on the left);

Of course you can also print at home if you have a good printer. I don’t have one! Mine only prints on 80 g/m2 papers and it’s not enough thick for hybrid projects. I guess you have to print at least on 180 g/m2

card stocks. I organized the files into A4 sheets and saved them as .jpg, at 300 ppi. I uploaded them into a pen drive and brought it to the Print House. The price is a bit expensive, being honest, but the result is absolutely wonderful and if you want to make a special gift, money are well-spent for sure. Exactly I paid € 1,50 per card stock.

Place holder and Tag Close up

Does it seem complicated? Not at all. I just folded a rectangular piece of paper to build the base of the place holder. I decorated by a string (which was punched by Marta Stewart Puncher) and then I pasted on the tag, the word-art, the little flowers and the heart. Believe me, I’m not expert on hybrid projects, even if I’m trying to learn, but the net is full of sites where to take ideas and tutorials! Especially on Pinterest! On next pages a tutorial for you.

Hybrid TutorialStep by step guide to create a wonderful 3d card

Author Annamaria Riosa

Hello everybody! Spring is coming and finally we can create materials with colorful and cheerful subjects!! Today I present a project with the kit “This is happiness”, which is an explosion of vitality. The things I liked the most are the floral papers and butterflies; So here is my card with a secret garden inside!

Materials:

» Kit This is Happiness » A solid yellow card » Glue » Scissors » Biadhesive

Here we go! I printed one of floral papers, the size is 21 x 21 cm. I proceed with the bending of the sheet using the technique of Turkish Map Fold, of which I am attaching the scheme in the next page. Before to realize it, I tried it with a white sheet, so we’ve been practicing!

Page 31: This is Happiness Booklet

31This is Happiness Booklet by Valentina’s Creations

After doing all the folds and concluded with the final form, I placed the sheet on a card that I had previously doubled up as you can see from the picture.

I place the tip in the center of the card and put the glue on both white sides.

I close the card and keep it pressed a little, until the glue sets.

Page 33: This is Happiness Booklet

Following step, outside the card, and using another printed sheet from the kit, I clothe the card. Now with scissors we cut a number of items from the kit, the house of birds, butterflies, word-arts, and all that you like best.

I position the elements on the card using the double sided scotch, in this way we get a nice three-dimensional effect. After doing this, gently open the card and we place the butterflies on the folds so spread out, making sure that it extends out from the folds.

I added a word-art at the base, and a white glitter circle in the center.

Vanilla Muffin Recipe by Anja_77

Hello, my name is Anja aka Anja_77. I’m happy to be a part of this amazing team of Valentina’s Creations. She is just an amazing person in every way and I’m very proud to have this privilege to work closely with her and enjoy her talented work by digital scrapbooking.

So I’m very proud to participate in this new and amazing booklet Valentina created for all of you. The thing I want to share with you is a muffin recipe. My darling daughter is 7 years old. As a school birthday treat we always make

these vanilla muffins because they’re loved by everyone. I know, it’s just a simple muffin. You have all kinds of tasteful and wonderful muffins, but children often prefer the simple things. So that’s why I want to share this recipe. Year after year the schoolteachers ask for the recipe.

With only a handful of ingredients you can make these delicious, easy muffins. The best is to eat them on the same day you make them. But you can also store 6 unbaked muffins in the freezer for another time and prepare the other 6. It takes 25 minutes to bake the muffins straight from the freezer.

The Ingredients (for 12 pieces)

» 75 g butter » 200g all purpose flour (pastry flour) » ½ tsp sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) » 2 tsp baking powder » 125g gold brown sugar » 1 egg » 285 ml sour cream » 1 tbsp vanilla extract (syrup/paste)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 200°C (convection oven 180 °C). First melt the butter in the microwave and let it cool down a bit).

Then thoroughly mix the dry ingredients (pastry flour, baking soda, baking powder and gold brown sugar) and do the same with the wet ingredients (egg, sour cream, melted butter and vanilla extract);

Mix the wet and dry ingredients together and divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.

Put them in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes until they are golden brown, beautiful raised and feel firm. (Muffins are done when a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean).

Do not open the oven too early to check on the muffins because they can collapse.

Special Thanks...This beautiful booklet is the result of the precious collaboration

between special people. I want to thank to all my splendid creative team members, for their outstanding pages and their kindness. Anja, especially, who was so kind to share with us a delicious Muffin Recipe. A special thank also to Annamaria, whose tutorial was the most beautiful inset of this small book and without, it wouldn’t be the same.

With all my love, Valentina Pellitteri aka Valentina’s Creations.
