PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

Celebrant: The widow in the temple gave everything she possessed to God. Her generosity humbles us. Let us be generous in our prayers for others, responding to the God who gives without ceasing. Our response is: Lord, hear our prayer.

1. For a better appreciation of the many works of charity and service carried out by the Church, let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

2. For the men and women who plan and administer the economy, let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

3. For those whose giving is a real sacrifice, let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

4. For true gratitude in our hearts for the gift of Jesus Christ in this Eucharist, let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

5. That all who are in need may find suitable employment, let us pray to the Lord.

Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

6. For the dead who long for the company of Mary and all the saints, let us pray to the Lord. Response: Lord, hear our prayer. Celebrant: Most generous Lord, receive the prayers of this community, offering themselves in union with the great high priest, your blessed Son, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
