FIRST DWELLING

The is the very first project in my first year. To design a house for myself to live in. The concept behind it was rhythm, a diverge from enclosed to open- up spaces. From private to public. A full height glazing wall allows me to have the stunning view of the water in front the building. A semi- public courtyard is on the other end. It is protect by the fence which is posi-tioned in the same rhythm as the building, widens up when it is further away from the courtyard.

A bus station designed for the bath university. A con-cept behind was playing with shadow and lights. The space is more opened up with more glazing at the entrance and more enclosed at the end. Also, I have found the arrangement of most bus sta-tions limits the communication between people. The way I designed the benches allow people talking face to face while waiting for the busy

HOME WORK

A house a couple of a painter and a photographer. I separated the house into two parts. One side is the studio and gallery for both and the other part is the living side. The stone cladding on the studio part uses bigger gravel to become more expressive and finer and thinner stone for the living side. The help distinguishing the different in function of both side,

VISITOR CENTER

A visitor centre for the cliffton bridge in bristol. I see the site as route for people to walk through and look to the bridge. To ex-press this idea to a further degree. I have decided to build a wall along the cliff side which blocks the view. Then, the stunning view is suddenly gives away to the visitors once they have entered the building itself.

NOLI MAPNOLI MAPNOLI MAPThe design concept was with the geometry of the art centre right next to it and of the site itself. The rotated geometry allow over-hangs which gives opportunities for varies activities. All my design integrated the nice and opened up space and give the area a complete finish. The public area allows social activities for both design school students and artist in the centre.

A group desing project in Queen Square which located in Bristol. It is a very formal square. We wanted to bring in biodiversity into the square, as well as sitting spaces, so the square can be activated. We decided to develop a series of wooden structured isalnds with planting spaces, not just bringing in more varieties of plants, insects, birds, but also more human activities into the square.

HEALTH CENTRE AND TURKISH BATH IN ISTANBULHEALTH CENTRE AND TURKISH BATH IN ISTANBUL

We went to Istanbul for our study trip as a year. The site is located in a poorer local area in Istanbul. The brief of the project is to design a health centre and a Turkish bath together. During the trip, I have realized men and women are still very segregated in terms of their social circle. My concept of my design is to provide both men and women the same quality of spaces but still maintain the level of privacy. The buildings in the area are layered with different heights, textures. I also played with the form of my design to make fit within the city fabrics.
