From the pastor:
Online Giving
Dear Ones, You may have heard our messages sharing our Online Giving tools with you. New things can often seem overwhelming, however, I believe you will find our process user-friendly and easy to navigate. There are some benefits to Online Giving:
• The ease of being able to sign up for, and to donate or pay for an event all in one place.
• Even when you’re traveling or visiting family and away from our campus, through our website, the mobile giving app or through text messaging you can continue faithful giving.
To give through website: Go to shelbygiving.com/tbc To give through mobile app: Click “Give” in the ShelbyNext app To give through text messaging: Text gift amount to 314.328.6968 You can login to your giving account and track your donations for the year. Use this for your
taxes and to set pledge goals for yourself.
We welcome you to try our online giving resources and let us know any questions you may have. Please contact the office, or drop an email to [email protected] if you have any questions. I love the Body of Christ that our church represents. Thank you for your continued generosity, for God loves a cheerful giver. Sunday, November 5 our congregation will have one more Sunday to pledge. If you have not made your pledge for 2018, please turn in your pledge card during worship or you can pledge online. Follow-ing worship, we will gather at the Stupp Center in Tower Park to consecrate and celebrate our Stew-ardship season. May God bless our financial resources in order to further our ministries of reconciliation. Grace and Peace, Tommy

Greetings Third!! By the time you read this, we will have undergone a wonderful experience at the ABY Gather-ing! Be sure to harass a child to see how much fun they had and check out Facebook to see all the neato pics posted there! But there is no time to live in the past! We must look forward to the future! Our last Saturday Social of the year is upon us, but it shall prove to be an excellent one! We are going to once again attempt to Escape the Room, where our teens shall be locked into a room left with only their wits to guide them as they solve puzzles in hope of discovering a hidden key that shall lead to their freedom! The brainwork and teamwork involved in this enterprise will be tested to the max as the squad will only have 1 hour to complete their trial. Even though our past two experi-ences resulted in defeat, I feel we have grown wiser and stronger…The Room shall see no victo-ry this time!! But ultimately only time will tell as we make our next attempt on November 18. If you or a loved one would like to participate, contact me by Wednesday, November 15. As al-ways, the bill is on us thanks to the amazing financial support of Third Baptist. Until next time, Travis Adams

Saint Louis Chamber Chorus Concert The Saint Louis Chamber Chorus is recognized as our region’s finest a cappella choir; its 48 members are among St. Louis most talented and experienced choral singers. The Chorus, currently enjoyed its 62nd year, is directed by TBC’s own Philip Barnes. On Sunday, November 12 at 3:00 PM, Philip will bring the SLCC to our church for a concert like no other, in terms of repertoire, quality and innova-tion. The selections range from the 16th century to the present day (a world premiere will be given at this concert), and have been chosen on the theme of Time and its myriad effects. The central part of the concert will feature the choir singing beneath more than 100 images by an extraordinarily gifted photographer, Jacob Buchowski, who will be there in person! Admission to this concert is by ticket, which may be purchased for $30 ($10 full time students) at the door, or in advance at chamberchorus.org>.

Beloved of Third, A letter from our missionary partner Lillian Solt: Thursday Tropical Storm Nate hit Costa Rica with a bang. In one day we received the amount of rain that we receive in one month and it caused havoc. All of the main roads in the country have been affected and most have been closed. On Monday we were to head south to one of the projects with 400 baby chicks to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of ASOMOBI, the women´s group that I helped to form many years ago. Now everything has been placed on hold. The country was hardest hit on the pacific side of Costa Rica but in reality ALL of us felt the effects except the Atlantic coast. Chelo, Rebeca´s husband, was out on the Atlantic coast with a group of students and could hardly get home with all of the roads closed. We praise the Lord that he made it home by taking a longer route. This is the main bridge that we need to cross leaving the Pan-American highway heading up into the moun-tains to visit the coffee plantations and the group of women of Biolley. Pray for the people as this main bridge is out and they are without food or supplies to these communities.
There are 11,300 people in 170 shelters. Some people have lost everything. Many have had their homes flooded enough to damage everything that is inside. Many of the communities are still isolated and difficult to get to. The President is asking the private busi-nesses to help in this emergency. We are participating in food, clothing, school supplies and uniform drives as the needs are so great. Most of the areas that have been hit are rural communities which have a difficult economic situation and all of what has happened burdens the people even more as many have lost everything including their crops and livestock. The cleanup of the mud in the homes has begun as the storm has moved on to the States and hitting on Sunday as the news is predicting. Please pray for us as we reach out to the people who are hurting the Lord will make us sensitive to those in need, give us wisdom in knowing who to help and good stewards of our resources. Pray for strength and spiritual guidance in all that we do. Please help CEDCAS in our time of need. This will be a long recovery so if you want to consider an end-of-year gift this will also be welcome. Thank you. To learn more about Clinical CEDCAS and their amazing work, check out https://www.facebook.com/cedcas.org/ or email Lillian to be added to their mailing list (*[email protected]*) Lillian will be one of recipients of our Annual Christmas Offering as she and other community leaders help rebuild Costa Rica after this year's devastating hurricane season.
