Gypsy, creole, ragtime and blues, all rolled in with a contemporary pop.

aitriona Fallon’s emotional connection to songs can move you to tears, and then before you know it you’ll be dancing in the aisles!

Caitriona was a hit performing in Tauranga’s Tarnished Frocks and Divas show Zoetica and her New Zealand debut concert at Totara St sold out. Caitriona moved to Tauranga from Ireland where she was a lead vocalist in Riverdance and more recently performed with her Irish band Cookie and The Vaudevilles. A successful debut album ‘Riches to Rags’ led to national radio play and touring renowned music venues around Ireland including the famous Cork Guinness Jazz Festival and Cheltenham Jazz Festival in the UK.

Caitriona and her Bay of Plenty band of fine musicians perform original songs and classics that are jazz-influenced – swing, gypsy, creole, ragtime and blues, all rolled in with a contemporary, almost pop sound.

Melbourne’s Shirazz serves up classic trad jazz with laid-back Louisiana street beats – so hot it sizzles.

ustralia’s and now New Zealand’s festival favourite Shirazz is a six-piece Melbourne trad jazz and dixieland band specialising in

classic hot jazz of the 20s and 30s, playing classic trad jazz as it was meant to be played. Hot solos, driving rhythms and tight arrangements, a set from Shirazz is a step back in time to a jumping New Orleans dance hall where fast, hot tunes intersect with swinging standards and laid-back Louisiana street beats. Shirazz should be enjoyed irresponsibly, and in excess. Pure fun!

International virtuoso guitarist sings the blues.

ward-winning guitarist Jöel Fafard performs Southern roots and blues classics with the soul of a purist and the

showmanship of a seasoned entertainer.

He sings with the sexy, sandpapered-sounding vocal style of the new generation bluesman. He tells his hilarious between-song stories with the confidence of a late show host delivering his monologue. And when he lets rip a solo on his resonator guitar, it’s easy to hear how he once earned both a Juno nomination and a Western Canadian Music Award for his skills on the axe.

His performances are as authentic as those of a Beale Street busker, but infused with a touch of contemporary urban attitude. And his live show is pure polish and professionalism, with songs ranging from Willie Dixon to Lyle Lovett.

The James Morrison Quartet.

ustralian trumpeter James Morrison is world-renowned for his sheer brilliance as a jazz musician. His recordings are best

sellers and multiple award winners. James works with the cream of the world’s performers - Ray Brown called him “The Genius” and Dizzy Gillespie called him “One of The Best”, but Wynton Marsalis summed it up: “Man, James Morrison can play!”.

James Morrison is, by anybody’s standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word. Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays piano, all the brass, saxophones, and double bass.

The James Morrison Quartet features his two sons, William on guitar and Harry on bass, with drummer Patrick Danao.

With sold out performances and rave reviews at Dizzy’s Club, Ronnie Scotts, and the Canberra International Jazz Festival you will not want to miss this exciting night of pure swinging jazz from the best in the business.
