INTRODUCTIONEnvironmental issues in Lagos are one of the most critical

problems facing its communities. A very big part of this problem is

because of the bad attitude by the communities themselves. The

problem is getting out of hand and it is affecting people’s health.

Now that Lagos is the most polluted city in Nigeria, this epidemic

has the potential to become worse if not contained and

eradicated. Hence the THINK GREEN project is focused on helping

communities understand simple methods in which we can

eventually have a sustainable environment.

This includes weekly sensitization exercise/training and project observation by

the Think Green Team.

STRATEGIESPicture-Aid This will be the use of pictorial representation of various

environmental sustainable use products which will be placed on the classroom walls and school environment as a reminder to the students of the various ways to create and maintain a sustainable environment. e.g pictures of brooms, baskets etc

Information Pamphlets A giveaway pamphlet will be given to the students to keep

as an information guide on the present day issues of the environment and how these issues can be eradicated.

STRATEGIESEco-Youngsters club This is aimed at getting the students participation in

generating ideas that will help keep their school look more environmentally conscious. A competition will be initiated to get the students to work in teams and generate the ideas that will help sustain their school environment. At the end of the competition, the Eco-Youngsters Club will be initiated so that they can be responsible for implementing their own ideas even after the Think Green project has been fully executed.

STRATEGIESTraining Exercise Invite some environmental organization spokespersons to

come and talk to the students about how to sustain the environment by using practical training methods.

Training Focus includes:- Reuse materials Tree planting & maintenance Disposable methods

“Think Green Project Team” Social Responsibility The Think Green Project team will lead by example by

donating some items to the school in order to encourage the students in putting into use the information they will be learning.
