Think About ItLuke 2:8-20
Luke 2
10 Behold , I bring you good tidings of great
joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall
find the babe wrapped in swaddling
clothes, lying in a manger.
Luke 2
13 And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host praising
God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on
earth peace, good will toward men.
Luke 2
18 ... and all who heard it were amazed at
what the shepherds said to them.
Luke 2
19 But Mary treasured up all these things
and pondered them in her heart.
Treasure and Ponder
A Celtic Prayer
The palmful of the God of Life
The palmful of the Christ of Love
The palmful of the Spirit of Peace
Trinity of grace.
A Celtic Prayer
Even as I clothe
my body with wool
Cover Thou my soul
with the shadow of Thy wing.
1. When you buy, wrap, give, or open a gift, think of all that the gift represents.
John 3:16
For God so love the world that he gave his
only begotten Son that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish but
have everlasting life.
2. When you hear a Christmas carol, think about the meaning of the words.
Hark the herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled!”
What child is this who laid to rest on
Mary's lap is sleeping? ...
This, this is Christ the king.
Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth!
3. When someone extends season’s greetings, think about the reason for the season.
4. When you see a Christmas symbol, think about what it could represent.
5. When you hear a bell, let it be a call to action.
Treasure and Ponder…• In every gift, remember that he is the greatest of all gifts.
• In every song, remember that he is the truth that we sing.
• In every greeting, remember he is the reason for the season.
• In every symbol, remember that he gives it a new meaning.
• In the sound of every bell, remember that he has called us to
be his hands, his feet, the agents of his peace.
When you look for Jesus
everywhere, that’s where
you’re sure to find him.
