Things you should know when starting a catering
business
Pricing is crucial If you have only just recently
started up your very own catering business the chances are from little experience you have very
little knowledge as to how much to charge your clients or even how much to spend on the business
itself! You need to ensure you’re giving yourself a profit as well as
providing your clients with an affordable service.
Meet your client Take time out to actually sit down with your client and discuss the event before you come up with a price. It is essential you take as
many notes as you can so you make no mistakes. Ask your clients if any of their guests have any allergies or
if they are vegetarians so you can make the event good for everyone.
Work out the costs Think about what particular
costs you are going to need to consider such as the menu,
rental charges, staff, beverages and more! It is always good to
offer little freebies or little extras for your client. Once you have worked out the cost of all this together this is when you can
come up with the price you are going to charge ensuring you
have a profit too.

It is very important you read through your contract before
signing a deal with your client. Underline all the additional charges you will be making and what you have already discussed should be well
stated on paper.
