LANCASTER ACCESSIBILITYBy Rob Bracewell

Lancaster is an historic town built between two sets of hills and as such can be a challenge to wheelchair users. The City centre is pedestrianised and almost all shops and services are accessible. Attractions such as the Castle are on top of a steep hill so assistance may be required. Blue Badge parking is free in all City Council car parks but some have time limits. The area is served by low floor buses and the local trains carry ramps. It is recommended, however, to contact individual hotels or the Vistor Information Centres directly with specific requirements. - Lancaster V.I.C. - 01524 582394
