Being W.E.L.L. A Note from Mike… Each one can reach one! Isn’t that an incredible truth to consider? at every person who is in Christ can reach out to someone who isn’t in Christ and bring them into the family of God. Now we know that no person causes that transformation. No, that is a God work. I find it so mind blowing that God chooses to use His people to lead others to Him. at’s what happened in John 1:41–42…“the first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon, and he brought him to Jesus.” MY 1 is our year long missional emphasis in which, as Brother Johnny so clearly stated this past Sunday, each person in the First Family is to ask the Lord to bring to their heart and mind that ONE who He wants us to find and bring to Jesus. Wouldn’t it be super delicious to see at year’s end, not only new people in Christ at First Baptist, but hearing reports that other church families have new members all because of MY 1? I hope each of you have a MY 1 card in hand. Although several have placed the first name portion of that card in one of our “treasure boxes,” don’t think this is something that must be delivered immediately. Wait on the Lord to give you His MY 1, then and only then do we want you to slip that person’s first name into the box. Also, we have some bracelets that have MY 1 inscribed on them. We chose the maroonish, milk-chocolate color for two reasons. One is because it’s a color that matches our signage but more importantly we picked this unusual color so that it would stand out. Our prayer is that the bracelet itself will be a two-prong blessing: one, in the fact it reminds us of our MY 1; two, it will become a tool to initiate a conversation with others. Maybe they will see “this bracelet” and ask us, “What’s with that?” I want to end this article by saying we intend to help you bring your MY 1 to Jesus. We will be praying for them. Also, we are going to offer some “helps” time, sessions in which we will be showing you some scriptures you can share and some approaches that may help you to share these scriptures. We will let you know soon when and where these times of “helps” will take place. I personally can’t wait to see how Jesus is going to use MY 1 in 2012 to bring others to Him. God bless! Being W.E.L.L.

A Note from Mike… Each one can reach one! Isn’t that an incredible truth to consider? That every person who is in Christ can reach out to someone who isn’t in Christ and bring them into the family of God. Now we know that no person causes that transformation. No, that is a God work. I find it so mind blowing that God chooses to use His people to lead others to Him. That’s what happened in John 1:41–42…“the first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon, and he brought him to Jesus.” MY 1 is our year long missional emphasis in which, as Brother Johnny so clearly stated this past Sunday, each person in the First Family is to ask the Lord to bring to their heart and mind that ONE who He wants us to find and bring to Jesus.
