Beloved partners: Who would have ever dreamed of a day when whole nations would come running

to us, the church of the living God?! But, they are, and I’ll tell you why in just a minute or two. What a glorious change from my parents’ day and the previous generation of our forefathers. My parents and grandparents went to Egypt in the early 20th century. They had to run to the nation with the word of God by planting churches, holding revival meetings, starting Bible schools, and birthing orphanages. It was hard, grueling work. Many gave their lives running to bring the Gospel to lost and blinded souls. My own cousin Rachel Crouch died from a smallpox epidemic. Her little body is buried in the desert sands of Egypt. I nearly died on the trip home from Egypt. Our ocean liner had to make an emergency stop in Genoa, Italy, where I hovered between life and death for 30 days. Bacillary dysentery is the killer kind, and the war had broken out with Italy and Germany! The

only medicine had to come from Switzerland and this special serum was not available. I was only fi ve years old, so my precious father and mother had to trust in God alone. I could write another book how the Italian government forced us to leave — we were Americans — we were the enemy! But, God in His great mercy spared my life and the rest is history. So, why tell you all of this? The trials and tribulations of previous generations who had to go through 30 days of seasickness on an old ocean liner, and as I said, many of those pioneer missionaries, like David Livingston, never made it home. Their graves in the nations around the world are a testimony of how they ran to the nations with the Good News simply because Jesus said to “Go”! But, dear, dear partners: we have entered into a glorious NEW DAY! Isaiah saw it, though he probably did not understand it. Yes, the day he saw and recorded is here! Glory be to God most High — “Nations that knew not thee shall run unto

thee because of the Lord thy God.” Isa. 55:5 As I write this letter I am having dinner tonight with a precious former Moslem man — son of one of the founders of Hamas, the notorious Palestinian

Host Pat Boone welcomed legendary silver screen actress, untiring philanthropist and recipient of countless awards, Rhonda Fleming, who inspired and encouraged us with her acting career anecdotes and dynamic Christian testimony.

David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders, helped us gain a whole new appreciation for our nation’s heritage, as he explained the role of Christianity in the founding of the United States.

Raul Ries, former martial artist and Vietnam veteran, now serves as senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Golden Springs in Diamond Bar, California. Pastor Raul told his miraculous testimony of coming to faith in Christ.

U.S. Army Chaplain Major Jonathan Etterbeek, enlightened us about the physical and spiritual challenges faced daily by our men and women in uniform, and discussed the ministry and services provided them by the military chaplaincy.

Health and nutrition were the topics of a special “Doctor’s Night” on Praise hosted by Matt and Laurie. Their guests included (from left to right): Dr. Raafat Girgis, Dr. Eric Braverman, Dr. Ken Wagner, Kevin Leville and Dr. Scott Stoll.

Oh, the power of the plain, simple word of our God! Praise the Lord! It has been reported that over 16,000 people a day in the Middle East alone are turning from false religions to serve the living Christ! Testimonies abound from precious Arab believers that Jesus actually appeared to them in visions and dreams!

OH, PRAISE GOD — THEY ARE RUNNING TO US!

Dear partners, God is also honoring our investment in those 70 satellite footprints all over the world. Thousands of testimonies by email, regular mail and phone calls confi rm the fact that multitudes are RUNNING! On our own TBN website alone we get an average of 28 million visits a month — many asking for Bibles and more information about our Christian faith! Praise God again! Some days I cry out to God, “Help us! Show us how to respond to this fl ood of humanity, burned out on the horror of false demonic religions and seeking ‘the way, the truth and the life!’” What a joy to point them to that “only name under heaven whereby we must be saved.” Oh say it with me: JESUS, JESUS, JESUS! My tears fl ow and my heart burns for the lost sheep that are truly running to the Light! Earlier I said I would tell you why I believe we are seeing this awesome harvest of souls — Joel’s prophecy is the answer: “Rejoice in the LORD your God: For he hath

given you the former rain moderately, but he will cause to come down for you…the latter rain in the fi rst month.” Joel 2:23

We know the former rain was the day of Pentecost — the apostle Peter confi rms this. But, blessed partners, I say to you by the word of the Lord, WE ARE IN THE LATTER RAIN! Joel goes on to say that the Holy Spirit will fi nally be poured out upon ALL FLESH! Remember the sweet, old hymn, “Mercy drops round us are falling, but for the showers we plead”? Well, say it with me: OH GOD, LET THE SHOWERS COME! They are here, praise God; now, let’s ask for the TSUNAMI! Glory, glory to our God most High — it is happening and YOUR TBN is in the middle of it! Normally, I try to give you the glorious new growth of TBN in my January newsletter, but statistics are often dry and boring, but let me at least give you the bottom line of the most awesome growth of TBN in the last 36 years. We shouted and danced back in 1973 and 1974 with one little station, which we believed would become a TV network. TBNʼs Second Chance prison outreach ministers hope and restoration to thousands of men and women incarcerated throughout the U.S. Over 450 satellite receiving systems have been sent to prisons across the country bringing the message of the Gospel to inmates via TBNʼs four networks: TBN, The Church Channel, JCTV and Enlace USA.

Second Chance Highlights of 2009:• Indiana Department of Correctionsapproved installation of Second Chance in all adult correctional facilities. Potential impact: Over 28,000 inmates statewide.• Oklahoma Department of Correctionsapproved Second Chance for 17 adult prison institutions, including two for women. Potential impact: Over 13,500 prisoners.

• Florida Department of Juvenile Justiceapproved bringing the JCTV youth network to 25 regional detention centers and 9 state-operated residential programs, including 100 privately contracted residential programs in Florida. Potential impact: An estimated 54,000 troubled youth. • The GEO Group, a world leader in the delivery of correctional, detention and residential treatment services to federal, state and local government agencies, announced an agreement to bring Second Chance into all 47 of its U.S. correctional facilities and detention centers across 15 states. Potential impact: More than 45,000 inmates.• Louisiana Department of Correctionsapproved Second Chance pilot program in three facilities. Potential impact: nearly 4,000 inmates.
