They changed the sas and i like the old one!
just messing around today I had hernia surgury so I am home, just went to the shop and
unless I'm just not paying attention I noticed that the SAS looked different it did'nt have the
screws on top of the bezel. So I guess thats the new SAS but I like the old one better its
probably my favorite. Has anyone else noticed this ?

Yep, its the new Diver Version with Rotating Bezel. The Original SAS isn't going away
anytime soon... it's just now we have a new one to play with, no biggie.
A few of the new Diver versions have been on air @ the Shop (with the Yellow & Black
Straps)... but I'm waiting for the All Silvertone/Black Dial Bracelet version
to make it's official debut. I'm guessing once it actually airs... it might hit with a lower price
than the current $579
The original is more elegant. The new version is more casual. I like both! A different look... for a different place with each version.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------
SAS.... New SAS.... Diver SAS.... call it whatever you wanna call it... the S/S Black dial one
pictured below, has my name on it.
Cause its a beauty... whatever you call it. (although I admit, it would've been nice to have
the 8040.N Retro-Day & Big Date like the Arsenal & Sea Hunter)
Earlier images from "The Movement":

Yes you are correct this is the diver version with the functional rotating bezel, no more
screws. Truthfully I to like the older version, for me I never use the rotating bezel anyway.

I too like the older version too. Like the two tone look and scews in he bezel. But I still havent added one to my collection yet. The silver/rose is still on my list though. Funny how
the one on rubber is priced more than the bracelet.

IMO, what made the SAS special was the multi-piece case within a case design.
This design was enhanced by the screws in the bezel that aligned with the screws in the case back, almost as if these screws went through the entire watch. Moreover, if the watch was
two-tone, that case design really popped out at you.
These new SAS's may as well be any ProDiver. The case design is secondary to the bezel and with a single tone case, not even that easy to see as being different.

Sorry, I had an older image on file (they were still "locked" at that time)... but I just updated
the Rubber with current (pre-air) price: $359
I should add... all the versions I posted above are now open, but none of these particular
versions have yet to air. Actual on-air price might even be better.

The original version looked nicer IMO, but the newer version makes it much closer to a real

I still don't own any SAS.... I'd like an original one 7750 as a grail, but I'd take the exact
diver that Nismo posted as a nice everyday... kinda the way I utilize my Ocean Ghost.

I have 3 SAS's w/ETA 251, and have no desire to buy the new model. I'd rather put that
money on a real "tool Diver". I really enjoy my Invictas's but am getting tired of all the
variations that they are coming up with.

haaa, thanks... I try. If it's a Venom, SAS or SAN...I'm pretty obsessed. So I try to keep tabs
on what's coming next.
So far these 2 rubber strap versions are the only ones that have aired on the Shop. I don't
recall the actual price when they debuted.

I too like the original design better. The case and bezel is what makes the original SAS so
special. And of course the bracelet rocks too. I do like the new design, just not as much as the original execution. I'm sure I'll add the new one to my collection at some point.

I know I am in the minority, but I actually like it better than the original. Really don't think it is that big of a deal as they will surely make other variations that are not divers. I wonder if
they will make a mid-size of this version?

There is a saving grace though - shop around, there are lots of the old models still available. Just do a Google search and I'll bet you are pleased.

I thought the original was almost he perfect design for me.I dont really like the new version at all.IMO they didnt improve on the watch at all.Its harder to read the hands with the white
subdial ring.I wish they would have changed the skeleton hands to make it a real
diver.Maybe its a hybird and we will see other versions in the future.

Didn't really like the 1st version, loved the rubber 2 tone gmt/alarm version, so so on this
diver version. I think they could've done a better job with this 3rd installment. It's close to being a keeper, but just falls short.

I agree, I liked the first one much better. There was something that looked very unique in
the first design. I love dive watches but the bezel doesn't seem to work as good with this watch.

The regular SAS is my all time favorite Invicta. I liked the 251.271 movement. The only
version of the SAS Diver I actually like is the all Silvertone, but the dial is a bit too busy.

I don't know, is it just me! I love the original version of the SAS, I just don't care much for
the diver version. It does'nt have that unique look to it, looks like a diver?
I guess I'll just keep to buying th original version then.

It looks like a diver... because it's the new SAS Diver with a uni-directional Rotating Bezel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This new version isn't replacing the original... it's just a new (alternate) execution. The
original is great, I love mine... but I for one, am glad Invicta is expanding the collection. I
don't really compare the two against each other. They are two different animals. I look forward to seeing these air. And look forward to having it on my wrist. Besides... not too
many 52mm, S/S, case & cradle, bracelet divers to choose from... I love it. Clearly I'm in the
minority... but I can't wait. __________________

The original SAS made an instant impression on me, this one not so much. I think their
heart was in the right place by adding a rotating bezel but the execution leaves a so-so after
taste. But my least favorite part about the new SAS Diver is the movement/dial
configuration. I'll be waiting for future variations.
