On the ice the Corvairs are currently battling to stay atop the GOJHL 2013-2014 standings, and Mitch readily acknowledges his main focus at this time of year is on his leadership role with the team. But as much as the youngster is passionate about both sports, there is little doubt being a two-sport athlete can present some tough decisions. The third-generation driver opted to forgo the 2013 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway -the biggest annual dirt track event on Ohsweken Speedway’s and the Canadian motorsports calendar because of his commitments to his Caledonia hockey team. That dedication also forced him to skip the final three events on the Southern Ontario Sprints schedule and some late season events on the US-Canada Patriot Sprint Tour. In 2013 the oldest of two racing brothers enjoyed the most successful season in his four-year Sprint Car career a season in which he won his third career feature race and finished third in Ohsweken Speedway’s highly competitive 2013 Corr/Pak Division championship standings. THESE BRANTFORD RACERS CAN’T WAIT FOR SEASON TO START January 26, 2014 Although Brantford's Mitch Brown is still heavily involved in his on-ice role with the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, you can bet he's still thinking about the upcoming start of the 2014 Sprint Car Racing season even though it's still some fifteen weeks or so before the green flag drops. Editor's Comments Welcome to the first edition of our team newsletter for 2014. A lot has happened since our last

published edition of "CHASIN' the 10s

Racing" back in late 2013 so in this edition we've had some catching up to do. 2013 proved to be another successful year for Mitch Brown especially at Ohsweken Speedway where he finished third in the final Corr/Pak Sprint Car Division, enjoyed some exceptional runs in the Southern Ontario Sprints and had some impressive results in limited appearances on the Patriot Sprint Tour. Jim Huppunen, a Fenwick, Ontario native who now lives in Welland Ontario, came out on top in a three-way battle for Ohsweken's Sprint Car Championship which went down to the final weeks of the regular season. The driver dubbed "The Red Rocket" who won his first championship in 2011 returned to the top of the heap with a steady effort that began at the beginning of the season and ended with a close but not insurmountable margin over Burford's Jamie Collard. Only a sour engine three events from the end of the schedule kept Mitch Brown from adding pressure to Huppunen and Collard in the battle for the track title. Some of the highlights of the 2013 season are covered in this edition of our newsletter with a full report documented in our

annual yearbook/magazine "CHASIN' the SPRINTS 2013" posted to our team website "www.mitchbrownracing.com". Check it out! For most fans who follow the action at Ohsweken Speedway there's the late October news that the popular track will be adding a fifth division to its already busy Friday night schedule with a developmental Sprint Car class similar to the Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars – including utilizing wings – but where only GM 602 crate engines will be allowed. Jake Brown, who spent two years in both the Mini Stocks and Thunder Stocks was among the first of many interested participants to sign up for this division. For those businesses seeking an exciting, colourful and proven means of promoting their products or services be sure to inquire about our team's sponsorship/marketing opportunities. (See Page 8 for details or refer to www.mitchbrownracing.com). Here's hoping this newsletter will awaken your interest on our team and the terrific entertainment that awaits you on the SPRINT car circuit in 2014.

BRANTFORD RACERS CAN’T WAIT FOR SEASON TO START - continued from Page 2 Although the 2014 racing season doesn't get underway at Ohsweken Speedway until the beginning of May, (some series races start earlier) Mitch is nevertheless plotting an aggressive 2014 racing schedule which also includes the preparation of a Sprint Car for younger brother Jake to drive in Ohsweken Speedway’s recently unveiled developmental division. Jake Brown is another same two-sport competitor who plans to follow his older brother in racing circles. Jake Brown (seen above being interviewed by Ohsweken trackside announcer Clinton Geoffrey) is moving up from Ohsweken Speedway's Thunder Stock Division to test his metal in the track's new developmental Sprint Car Division in 2014.

Currently his Hagersville Hawks are battling it out with Grimsby Peach Kings for the lead atop the OHA's Niagara & District Junior C Hockey League. As a former “Rookie of the Year” in Mini Stocks and with two years of Thunder Stock competition experience, the younger Brown has been quietly hoping to eventually join Mitch on the Sprint Car circuit and in 2014 he'll get that opportunity in the winged, open-wheel machines powered by a new 602 GM Crate Engine. NOTE: The team is currently seeking additional sponsorship/marketing partners for its 2014 racing programs. (For details on how you can be a part of our team in 2014 see www.mitchbrownracing.com or contact Doug Brown at (519) 752-9531).

Jared Zimbardi and Steve Poirier Honored as Patriot Sprint Tour Champions Rich Vleck, ROCHESTER, NY, (December 21, 2013) Christmas time is a season for giving, and on Saturday Night, the Patriot Sprint Tour played the part of Santa Claus, handing out some big money after another big year. The Patriot Sprint Tour held its annual Season Awards Banquet Saturday Night at Barnard Exempt in Rochester, NY. A whopping $27,325 in cash prizes was distributed, a true dollar figure that had all teams in attendance smiling. Jared Zimbardi and Steve Poirier took the largest slices of the point fund on the night, but more than 20 drivers walked away with solid paydays made possible by Hoosier Tire Canada, A-Verdi Storage Containers, Insinger Race Fuels, Original Pizza Logs, Mike Emhof Motorsports, Bonnell’s Collision, Fine Touch Collision and Gater Racing News. Zimbardi, 26, was crowned the PST America Tour Championship, netting him $5,000. It was the second championship in three years for the Little Valley, NY driver now residing in Bradford, PA. Zimbardi bounced back after a sluggish 2012 season to reel off three wins, two coming at the smallest tracks on tour (Bradford and Clinton County) and the other at the largest (Raceway 7). Zimbardi was given an Award for Sportsmanship for the eighth year in a row as well, an honor he joked about while accepting his championship trophy. Tony Difonzo, crew man on the 35, was named the Mechanic of the Year. Poirier, of St. Mathieu de Beleoil, Quebec, made his preseason commitment to run the full PST Canada Tour pay off, as he outlasted Jason Barney over the six months to claim his own $5,000 cash championship. Poirier was unable to attend the banquet Saturday Night due to a late business conflict, but his head wrench Kevin Loveys was on hand to accept the hardware despite driving through a blizzard on his way down from Montreal. Scott Just, of Ransomville, NY, was another major award recipient on the night, taking home the Insinger Race Fuels Rookie of the Year, joining a select group. Just was also named the Original Pizza Logs Dash Series Champion. Defending PST America Champion Scott Kreutter was second in points this season. In addition, he was honored as the Patriot of the Year for the second-straight season. Defending PST Canada Champion Justin Barger was third in PST America points this year, Gater Racing News Hard Charger of the Season Tommy Wickham was fourth in the standings for the second-straight year while Geoff Quackenbush rounded out the top five in his return to the tour for the first time in six years. Brad Knab was sixth in points, ahead of Clint Ide, Scott Just, Bryan Howland and Steve Collins who completed the top-10. Top newcomer Tyler Graves and fellow rookie Dave Just also were point fund eligible. Jason Barney finished second in the PST Canada standings, just ahead of Jamie Collard, who finished in that position last year. Barger and Zimbardi doubled up their point funds, rounding out the top five. Chris Jones, Glenn Styres, Keith Dempster, Patrick Vigneault and Etienne Girard completed the top 10 in the PST Canada standings. A special moment on the night was when the Hard Luck Award was handed out to George Suprick. The 2004 Series Champion’s season was cut short back in June when he suffered a heart attack following a series event at Mercer. (Continued Next page)

To conclude the ceremony, PST Owner Mike Emhof took to the podium to shed some light on the 2014 season. Emhof first declared that once again next season there will be a PST America and PST Canada Series, each paying $5,000 to the champion. In addition, if a driver can claim both titles, they will receive a $5,000 bonus, meaning that $15,000 will be up for grabs for a single driver. It was also announced that almost every track on the tour this past season will be part of the 2014 tour, with a few tracks the series was not at last year will return. It’s Official: Jessica Zemken Sets Full-Time Oswego Speedway Schedule Published on November 19th, 2013 in Track News

OSWEGO, NY (November 19, 2013) – Corr/Pak Merchandising and Graham Racing announced this week the full-time commitment of Jessica Zemken to the Novelis Supermodified division at Oswego Speedway in 2014.

Zemken will join Ray and Kody Graham as a

weekly member of the Graham Racing stable as well as Joey Payne as a part of the Strong/Graham Racing effort on Saturday nights at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Corr/Pak Merchandising owners John and Wendy Brush could not be more excited at the opportunity that lies ahead for both Zemken and their company. “This year’s Budweiser International Classic Weekend was the thrill of a lifetime with Jessica in the field,” said John Brush. “Having Jessica competing weekly at Oswego will be a dream come true for all parties involved. The Graham Racing team does an outstanding job both during the week with preparation and at the race track. We are very excited.” Driving for Graham Racing, Zemken became the first woman in 57 years to qualify for the prestigious Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds earlier this year with a lap of 135.624mph, good enough for 10th on the starting grid of 34. A veteran of 410 winged Sprint Car racing, Zemken will become the first full-time female Supermodified shoe at Oswego since Jennifer Chesbro in 2004. With only one previous points paying start at Oswego, coming on opening day of 2012, Zemken will also be eligible for Novelis Supermodifed Rookie of the Year honors for 2014. While Zemken will hit the pavement full-time at Oswego, plans are still in place for her to continue her 360 and 410 Sprint Car racing career behind the wheel of the Corr/Pak No. 1Z on Fridays and Sundays, as well as any free Saturday nights when Oswego is not in competition.
