then hit the single button to reset the oscilloscope. At the other end of the tube,
slowly open the valve to let pressure fill the right half of the shock tube. It is easiest
to fill slightly past the desired pressure and then bleed off pressure if need be from
the relief valve. Once the desired temperature has been reached, puncture the
diaphragm with the plunger. The oscilloscope reading will resemble figure (2). Use
the oscilloscope controls to measure tA, tb, VA, and VB. Use a conversion factorof 50 psi/V to convert your voltages to pressures. Let the tube vent by opening the
end valve. Record all required measurements into the log-book and repeat 14 more
times.
