Easy Ukulele Songs Teacher’s Guide (C) is an excellent songs collection to teach young beginners to sing and strum on the ukulele. The collection includes 32 folk songs with a performance/accompaniment CD, projectables, chord charts, reproducible student lyrics pages, and links to easy pop songs to play along with. Character Traits is a musical revue that teaches about character through use of magical hats. Jennifer Lynn finds herself in the mysterious maze of “Life Situations.” By her side is a hat maker who has a box of magic hats. Each hat represents a positive human character trait that, when worn, empowers the wearer to demonstrate that particular trait. Bullied shows how bullying can occur everywhere, even on another planet! Bullied can be read in the classroom as a reader’s theatre or drama activity. It can be staged as a play or a scripted reading. Dargo and his two buddies are the school bullies throwing Jupiter dust in Towana’s face. The script explores why bullying happens and strategies that the bullied can use. Songs include It Hurts, Alone Is The Game I Play, Nobody Likes Me, Everybody Hates Me, We Have You By Our Side and Confidence Song. Vidar UkulelesIn 2014, Denise went to China to meet with ukulele manufacturers at the China Music Fair. She brought back 8 ukuleles in a suitcase (they all survived the trip!) and has been playing with the samples for the past 10 months. On the first day back in Canada, we tuned all the ukuleles, then checked daily to see which one stayed in tune the best. Without doubt, the best quality of workmanship, the best sound, and the best intonation was the Vidar Concert ukulele. It’s a wooden ukulele - not a painted plywood or plastic uke. The neck is made of mahogany, the fingerboard is rosewood and the rest of the body is made of sappelle, which is an African wood often used in guitar making. It has very good quality machine heads so they stay in tune. The concert ukulele is larger than the soprano (24” long) so has a bigger sound, and the frets are not as small. (Grade 5-6 kids can have big hands that don’t fit well in tiny frets.) It’s a really good size for students in elementary school. The bags are good quality padded bags.

We received our first shipment in June, and are thrilled to be able to offer this excellent quality instrument to Canadian schools at reasonable prices. Our current inventory is limited, so order soon!
