trends in neuroscience is a fascinating
challenge to young India to excel and
meet the internat ional research ndstandards. The 32 Annual SNCI-CON
2019 meeting brings together well
known budding researchers in the areas
of neurochemistry, neuroscience,
neurobiology, neurology and other
related areas. Thereby this meeting aims
to welcome both sc ient i s t s and
clinicians and it is the ideal platform for
those studying the interplay of the brain,
behavior and diseases. This three-day
event is lled with keynote talks, invited
presentations, posters, awards, and
most importantly the opportunity to
connect with colleagues.
Eminent scientists from different parts of

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGY
epartment of Pharmacology works towards the aim to develop research
Ddirections that will translate into therapeutic applications and to mentor the
next generation of researchers devoted to drug discovery. Department of
Pharmacology commenced its journey in the year 1983. Since then it is catering to
the needs of D Pharm, B Pharm and Pharm D. M Pharm Pharmacology was
introduced in the year 2008, the course is approved by AICTE, New Delhi for the intake
of 15 seats. The department also offers PhD Programme. Recently Department of
Pharmacology restructred on par to International Standards with facilities for
simulation experiments, ideation lab, cell and molecular pharmacology labs. The
department is supported by competent and dedicated staff working on various elds
such as cancer biology, cardiovascular pharmacology, neurobehavioral
pharmacology and toxicology. Recently, PG Diploma in Regulatory toxicology was
initiated to cater to the manpower needs in toxicology industries / CROs. The
department has received grants from VGST, DST etc. Preclinical consultancy services

w i th head quar ter s in Hyderabad, Te langana founded by
Dr. B. Ramamurthi, a globally recognized neurosurgeon and Dr. K. Subba
Rao, a distinguished neurochemist in the year 1979. The SNCI promotes
neurochemistry by organizing conferences and workshops at different
Universities/ institutes across India. These workshops/schools are directed
to train young students in the basic techniques of neurochemistry/
neuroscience. The society inducts neuroscientists as life members and
relevant information is sent to them from time to time. SNCI organizes its
annual meetings in different parts of the country. During annual meetings,
young students are motivated with certicate and given cash awards for
the best poster and oral presentation. SNCI is linked with major
international bodies such as the Asian Pacic Society for Neurochemistry
(APSN) and International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN). The current
