About University of Kigali

University of Kigali is one of the leading private higher institutions of learning in Rwanda. It is a fully accredited chartered university by the Government of the Republic of Rwanda, with a campus located in Kigali, Kacyiru, next to Kigali Heights and another campus in the north of Rwanda, in Musanze.

UoK has three faculties: Faculty of Business Management and Economics, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology; two schools: School of Postgraduate Studies (SPG) and School of Accountancy (SOA), and three centres, Centre for Economic Governance and Leadership (CEGL) the Euro-African Centre for Study of Law and Markets Regulations and the Centre for Modern Languages (CML). The university started operations with 649 students in October 2013 and has experienced rapid growth in enrolment to 6500 students in the undergraduate programs and more than 1200 students in the postgraduate programs.

University of Kigali employs 147 full staff members and has the highest percentage of doctoral degree population in the country, with 9 full Professors and 22 PhD holders. The University has an international office as well as international students from Nigeria, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, Ethiopia, China and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and students in exchange programs from Germany. The University believes in diversity in the creation and dissemination of critical knowledge, embedded in the richness and potential of the region as envisaged by its founders.
