The Amazing Labrador Retriever All you need to know on this breed, plus an exclusive interview with

their dog owners.

The Amazing Labrador Retriever

The Labrador Retriever is the only dog who really connected with me

during my first couple years of growing up and I feel that this dog

really fits my personality and the way that I live.

Love at First Sight

Buying or adopting a Laborer Retriever can be a miracle waiting to happen. In an adoption center the dogs are around $200.00 including adoption fees. Buying Labrador Retrievers can cost about $800.00 to $1200.00 depending on if it's a pure breed. A pure breed means that two of the same dogs are identical in color and breed.

The Veterinarian

Of course, all dogs hate the veterinarian because getting shots and getting their

stomach pumped is not a good feeling. But just like humans, dogs get sick and need

to go to the doctor. Once the Labrador Retriever is brought to the veterinarian and

looked at, the owner can wait around three to four months before going back for a

monthly check-up. The cost is normally around $45.00 to $55.00 per visit.

Only the finest for my fuzzballThe simple supplies for the new family member include:

-a bed

-a chew toy

-food

-a leash

Hunters On The ProwlEating right is great so people don't get overweight or even die. This is the same with

dogs. Owners DO NOT want to feed them any human food, such as chocolate or the

last of the ribs, steak or meat on the table, and any other treats that humans consume!

Dogs need the best nutrition. Look for labels that say the following:

-made with real meat

-made with natural ingredients

-made without corn, wheat, and soy

Meeting Friends

Labrador Retrievers are laid back, curious creatures. They get along well with other dogs and are considered the most popular dog. In fact, they get along with many types of cats too!

Training Labrador RetrieversLabrador Retrievers are very easy to train, but just like other dogs they need time.

Labrador Retrievers do not automatically get something the first time. They need to

learn it at least 30 times. Also to help them learn, an added treat when they do well in

the training can help get them to learn faster.

How To Be A Great Dog LoverDogs need to be treated well. They should not be treated as slaves so please do not

treat them like ones. Why there are so many dogs in adoption centers is because their

owners abuse or hurt them. With nowhere to go they die. But with adoption centers,

they can live a full, good life with their new owners.

Different Kinds of Labrador RetrieversThere are three main colors of Labrador Retrievers: chocolate, black, and yellow.

Of course there are many more colors as a result of hybrids, which are two or more

breeds or colors in one dog.

Interviews: Ocean Goetzke, age 12, student

Hi, my name is Ocean, I am the owner of this slideshow and picked this breed because I am

a proud owner of a Labrador Retriever. My Labrador Retriever’s name was Yukon, and he

was my first and only dog of my life so far. Yukon was a male Yellow Labrador Retriever

and about the size of a Great Dane. He was the sweetest dog ever! He would always play

with me when I was young and even snuggle. The funny part is that he thought that he was

a lap dog! Yukon has always been very well controlled and has never ever bitten anyone.

Although he is very protective of my family and me, he is the friendliest dog in the world.

The Amazing Labrador Retriever!Thank you so much for taking time to look at how wonderful Labrador Retrievers are!

I love this breed of dog and hope that you will consider buying or adopting one!

This is for the Waukesha Kennel Club Scholarship!

Thank you so much,

Ocean Goetzke
