These past few weeks have been very hard on parts of our jurisdiction. The multiple fires have been very devastating. Many structures have been destroyed, but

thank God, there were very few deaths. Both Blondie and I hope that the Nobility and their family have not had any losses because of the fires. On Saturday Santa, Blondie and I stopped by the Fire Command Center in Hanson Dam to deliver some box lunches. The food was received with great appreciation, but a picture with Santa was even better. There was a past Shriner Hospital patient helping with the fires. What a small world. We would like to give our thanks to all the first responders for their hard work putting the fires out in the central California area. Thanks Santa for bring some cheer to the firefighters. Our journey started back in 2011 when Illustrious Sir Sam Pitassi appointed me Second Ceremonial Master for Al Malaikah Shrine. When Blondie and I accepted the appointment, we had no idea that this decision would change our lives. The next seven years, we met the many Nobles and their Ladies, attended Pov’s, events, and attended functions throughout the years. Blondie took thousands of pictures to make sure the sitting Potentate’s year was memorable, along with our trip up the line of the Divan. The memories Blondie and I have will never be forgotten, thanks to you all and the pictures she took for history. Thanks to all the Units and Shrine Clubs for their support and courtesies that were extended to us thought out the years. Your friendship is greatly appreciated by both of us. Please support the next Potentate and Divan with their Ladies as you all did for Blondie and I. So.now it’s time to say goodbye, to all our company,M-I-C, See you real soon!K-E-Y, Why? Because we like you!M - O - U - S - E Always remember, as Shriners, we are “Improving the World One Child at a Time”. Thanks and Make it a great day !!!!!!

Dear Nobility and Ladies,It is with a great deal of gratitude that I write this letter. Getting to know all of you and calling you my friends has been wonderful. I will treasure this forever.

I have had the best time, these last seven years, being a part of something bigger then myself. I will miss being a part of the Divan, but as a Divan member, this gives you the opportunity of a lifetime, working to make a difference in a child’s life, first hand, this is more rewarding then one person can say. Our goal for the future is to help as many children as we can and to be a strong supporter at the Shrine Medical Center. Thank you to each of the Shrine Clubs and Units for hosting POV’s, coming to the parades, and making our year great. Mikie and I had a fabulous time. You are the best.

Hello Nobility! Your Divan has been thinking about communication. Obviously if you are reading this article in the Al Malaikahan then we communicate to you at least once a

month. Yeah! Many of you receive our Constant Contact emails that are sent prior to big events and activities as a reminder to participate. It’s our desire to reach for as many Shriners, friends and Family to join in the fun! We also understand that these repetitive Constant Contact notifications can be numerous especially when you have already signed up and paid for the event. We have many great, large, FUN events scheduled for 2018. In addition, we also would like to add smaller more spontaneous activities. In my non-Shrine community, I sometimes receive a message that someone is having a discount on tickets to an outdoor concert, wine tasting 😊 and many other FUN activities. Ten to twentyFriends and Family show up-It’s great fun!The Shrine spontaneous activities might include going to a cool venue on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for food, drink and comradery, Community Fair, sometimes we can obtain a limited number of concert tickets at Al Malaikah Shrine Auditorium and much more. Most of these activities are planned a few weeks in advance and are regional events. Maybe we have just 25 Shriners and their friends attend but we have a good time bonding in our shared pursuit of Having FUN and Helping KIDS! Success!! The only way this will work is if we have your current email address’ at the Shrine Office. For you folks on Facebook and other Social Media we are constantly updating that as well. Please update your profile with the Shrine Office by calling 213 748-0173 and get active with the Shrine!Again, we get that you don’t want a bunch of repetitive emails from the Shrine.
