“JOPLIN’S OPEN HOUSE WENT VERY WELL. WE HAD 114

CUSTOMERS IN ATTENDANCE AND ONE CARRY OUT

PLATE. A BIG THANKS TO BRYAN MATZEK FOR COOKING

THE BRISKET, SAUSAGE, AND BEANS. ALSO, THANKS TO

BUDD AND DARYLE FOR HELPING WITH THE SERVING.”—

“We had 64 customers at the North Bend open house on

June 16, 2014. The number was down from what I thought

we would have. The big reason I feel is that Pilger Nebraska

which is 40 miles northwest of us had a massive double

tornado go through and 3/4 of their town was demolished.

We did not have anyone here that was farther than 10

miles north attend. We have many customers in that area

and I am sure that on this stormy night they stayed home.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the tornado victims as

their lives in one short moment changed and had no home

to go back to. It was a terrible thing to have happened.

Only 2 lives were taken, luckily!”—Steve Settles, NBN mgr.

North Bend Open House

“We had 83 attend the open house in Grand Island, Ne. The food was great as always. The vendors were there and we had good feedback from everybody. The weather was good, not too warm, and no storms present.”—Jim Penwell, GRI mgr.

“Norfolk had their open house on June 18, 2014. It got a

little warm that day, otherwise the weather was good. The

turn out was not. We had 27 people attend.

A few days ago the town of Pilger which is

about 20 miles from here got their town

75% wiped out. The day of the open house

they had over 2000 volunteers for cleanup.

We have also been without a salesman for a

month or so. I think between the 2 things

going on it was a low turnout and I was dis-

appointed. The vendors and customers all

enjoyed themselves. Thanks for all that

came up and helped out. Thanks to Bryan

for the great meal. That night we also had a

TT/AC class. We only had 6 and I had 8

cancel because of the tornado. Richard had

a lot of questions. Everyone enjoyed the

class. We will do it again next year and hope for better re-

sults!”

“We had two brake classes recently. I want to give a huge

thanks to Chuck Harwell for doing them. The classes were

held at Crowder College in Neosho, MO. The first class had

a total of 21 high school students and the second class

consisted of 23 college students. The instructor for

Crowder College made this a mandatory class, and gave all

the students a final exam on the class.” —Steve Alderman, Jop mgr.

AT ONE TIME THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

IN THIS WHOLE WORLD

My wife and I were invited to a hog and goat cook out; my sister had invited us on a Saturday night in October 2010.

They had a whole hog and goat on the smoker and a lot of good food to go along with it.We all were setting around an old

camp fire. Everyone was talking about this and that. All the time I was thinking about how we all got there in cars and

trucks. Then I looked at the people talking on their cell phone.

Some of the people were looking at their watch to check the time. Then I looked at something and it came to my mind at

one time this was the most important thing in the world.

If the entire human population stood in a line around the earth at the equator and held hands, a significant portion of them would drown.

If you took every vein and artery in your body and laid them end to end, you would die.

George Hewitson's, an elderly man, from Norwich UK, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left

the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to

go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along

when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well you

don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, Six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambu-

lance showed up at the Hewitson`s' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"
