PROGRAM
Today’s program was
presented by our own Eric
Drew, who regaled us with a
History of Healdsburg. The
Healdsburg Plaza was created
in 1857, and the Redwood
trees were planted in 1924. In
1857, the Harmon Heald
subdivision was built. In
1858, the first 3-story hotel
was built, the Sotoyome Hotel.
In 1867, the City of
Healdsburg was incorporated.
The railroad came in 1871.
The Cummings Stable was built in 1875. The 1906 Earthquake was more devastating to Santa
Rosa than to Healdsburg.
The US 101 freeway bypass opened on 11/11/60. City Hall was completed in 1961, and the site
is now the Oakville Grocery. External factors affecting Healdsburg’s future growth include
natural disasters, technology and demographics.
RAFFLE: Jerry Campbell won today’s raffle
but did not draw the winning marble. He did
receive a lovely bottle of Bertapelle wine.
CLOSING: Prez Bob thanked visitors and guests for coming.
NEXT WEEK: Mustara Tolosa on Social Media
