Playing At A Higher LevelPlaying At A Higher LevelPlaying At A Higher LevelPlaying At A Higher LevelPlaying At A Higher LevelThe University of Findlay men’s basketball team has nevershied away from NCAA Division I competition. In fact, over theyears, the Oilers have given Division I opponents all they couldhandle, even coming out on top numerous times.

During the 2009-10 campaign, the Oilers fell 84-48 to the DukeUniversity Blue Devils in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Novem-ber 3 before coming up short against Utah University by a scoreof 83-70 on November 7.

To begin the 2008-09 season, Findlay battled back from a 14point deficit against Xavier University, eventually falling 79-76to the Musketeers in an exhibition game.

At the beginning of the 2007-08 campaign, the Oilers battledthe University of Dayton to the closing seconds before beingdefeated 81-78 by the Flyers in an exhibition game. The nextweek however was a different story as Findlay came out ontop against the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes, 70-68 at ValueCity Arena.

In 2004, the Oilers nearly defeated Dayton, losing 63-61. Findlayled for all but seven minutes in the game. During the sameyear, the Oilers gave Miami University all they could handle ina 79-66 loss during the regular season.

In 2003, Bowling Green State University nipped Findlay 64-50during the regular season and has not wanted to play the Oil-ers since. There is some history between the two programsthough as Findlay came out on top 79-68 during the 1991-92campaign and has secured 15 other victories against BGSUover the course of time.
