Oak HillWorld’s Fair to Raise Money forTrailsandParksinSouthwestAustin TheOakHillWorld’sFair–aspectacular,community building, family fun filled festival willbeheldonApril5thof2008atFireLake,onFitzhughRd.offHwy.290West,fromnoonuntil10P.M.,witharaindateofApril6th.Itis presented by the Oak HillAssociation ofNeighborhoods(OHAN),theOakHillBusinessandProfessionalAssociation(OHBPA)andtheOakHillGazette. Oak Hill World’s Fair is a non-profit event with a mission to raise funds for Oak Hillcommunity groups.This year’s festival willraisefundsforOakHillparksandtheOakHillTrailsAssociation(OHTA). The festival will feature some of the bestmusical talent theOakHill areahas tooffer,includingGrammyAwardwinnerCyrilNevilleandhisbandTribe13aswellasGrammyAwardwinner Floyd Domino, and his hand pickedband the Oak HillAll-Stars, including RedVolkart,longtimeguitaristforMerleHaggard.Other confirmed acts include Jane Gillman, The SunsetValleyBoys,andTHATDamnedBandwithmoreentertainerstobeannounced.MusicalperformanceswillbeonanislandstageinFireLake (so called because of it’s fire-spewing
fountain)andonasmalleracousticstageundertheoaks. There will be a diverse assortment ofentertainers,vendors,food,interactiveexhibits,andactivities.TheOakHillWorld’sFairwillalsofeaturethedebutofConvictSleddingHill– the area’s first year-round snow sleddingexperience!Inaddition,thefairmarksthedebutofPyro-palooza,whichwillculminateinahugefireworks display. Therewillbeclassiccars,alongwithmanyother quirky, creative and educational events,attractionsandcompetitionsthatexemplifythatspecialOakHillstateofmind.
