Background• The Texas chainsaw massacre is a 1974 American slasher film,

directed by Tobe Hooper.• This film is based on a true story which was published to attract

a wider audience, produced under the estimated $300,000. The tight budget made Hooper film longer hours in order to finish the film quickly. However, making profit of $30 million, the film was ban outright in several countries due to the complaints of its disturbing violence. Soon later the film gained a reputation as one of the ‘best horror films’. A deeply distressing horror film which is bloodless but increase use of violence leaves it less scary and more distressed. The weapon that is used is related to the film poster and conveys the film is a slasher.

The Plot The film follows a group of friends that have fallen victim to the brutality of the modern world as they get stalked and killed. They head to inspect the grave-site of Sally’s family as soon after they face a journey of terror. As one by one they wonder into the forest and encounter bodies cut by chainsaws.

As I am a big fan of horror movie this film wasn't up to scratch as it emphasized more on the brutal beating then gory and blood shots. However, some people who don’t like horror would like watching this film as it contains less scary, terrifying scenes. The up coming scene were expected as it was a fast running movie also the film title ’chainsaw’ implies blood-spattered story line as blood is the main element of any horror films. The slogan of the film ‘who will survive’ is another main element of horror film as a character needs to escape the killer. Gloomy colours and weary music are used in this film to give us a sense of threat.
