A Butterflys LessonOne day, a small

opening appeared

in a cocoon; a

man sat and

watched for the

butter f ly for

several hours asit struggled to

force its body

hole.

Then, it seems tostop making any

progress.

I t appeared as if

it had gotten as

far as it could

and it could not

go any further.

So the man

decided to help

the butter f ly: he

took a pair of

scissors and

opened the

cocoon.

The butterf ly

then emerged

easily.

But it had a

withered body, it

was tiny and

shriveled wings.

The man

continued to

watch becausehe expected

that, at any

moment, the

wings wouldopen, enlarge

and expand, to

be able to

support the

butterflys

body, and

become firm.

Neither happened!

I n fact, the

butter f ly spent the

rest of i ts l i fe

crawling around

with a withered

body and shr iveled

wings. I t never wasable to fly.

Nobody can or

should break

somebodys

COCOON. Its one

own struggle and

effor ts which wi l l

help him in doing

so.

What the man, in his

kindness and his goodwil ldid not understand was

that the restr icting

cocoon and the struggle

required for the butterf ly

to get through the tinyopening, were Gods way

of forcing fluid fr om the

body of the butterf ly into

its wings, so that i t would

be ready for f l ight once itachieved i ts freedom from

the cocoon.

Sometimes,

struggles are

exactly what we

need in our l i fe.

I f God allowed us to

go through our li fewithout any

obstacles, it would

cripple us. We

would not be as

strong as we could

have been. Never

been able to f ly.

and God gave me

dif f iculties to make mestrong.

I asked for Wisdom...

and God gave meproblems to solve.

I asked for

prosperity...

and God gave me a

brain and brawn to

work.
