The Star-studded Malaysian TV Awards Presentation

“TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013”

Chilam Cheung and Linda Chung were crowned my favourite actor and

actress

(Hong Kong – 1 December 2013) Organised by TVB and produced by TVB Entertainment

News, with Astro and MY FM as media partners, the greatest and star-studded Malaysia TV

Awards Presentation, the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013 was successfully concluded at

Star Stage@KWC at Kuala Lumpur tonight. Triumph In The Skies II, a TVB modern

drama, earned the highest votes among the Malaysian audiences for the award of “My

Favourite Drama Series”. Chilam Cheung, one of the cool pilots in the favourite drama,

was crowned “My Favourite Actor in A Leading Role”. And, Linda Chung, with her

marvellous play in Brother's Keeper, won “My Favourite Actress in A Leading Role” for

the first time.

This year, the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013 was organised by TVB for the first time. A

great amount of resources was pooled to produce the awards presentation, which was even

regarded as the prelude to the TV Awards Presentation of TVB. As a token of appreciation to

the continuous supports, voting had opened to all Malaysian fans! During 1 – 22 November

of the voting campaign, there are altogether almost 100,000 Malaysian audiences voted and

the voting website reached over 500,000 views. After 3 weeks of voting activity, winners

from 13 nomination categories were announced tonight. A number of awardees dressed up

gorgeously to attend the awards presentation.

Numerous TVB red-hot artistes arrived at Malaysia for the grand show, including Eric

Tsang, Tavia Yeung, Myolie Wu, Chilam Cheung, Kenneth Ma, Linda Chung, Ruco

Chan, Ron Ng, Wong Cho Lam, Kristal Tin, Edwin Siu, Nancy Wu, Mandy Wong, Him

Law, Eliza Sam, Elvina Kong and Benjamin Yuen. The show started at 8 p.m. and it

was hosted by Wong Cho Lam, Maria Luisa and Jarvis Chow. Singing talents Mag Lam,

Fred Cheng, Jay Fung and Hubert Wu led the spectacular opening performance. With a

round of applause, the artistes showed up on stage and greeted audiences. Ms Liew Swee

Lin, Chief Commercial Officer of Astro; Mr Choo Chi Han, Vice President of Chinese

Customer Business of Astro; Mr TH Chong, Chief Commercial Officer of Astro Radio; Ms

Sandy Yu, Controller (Non-Drama) of Production of TVB, Ms Virginia Lok, Controller of

Production Resources Division of TVB and Mr Sherman Lee, Controller of International

Business Division of TVBI also attended on the night.

Produced by executive producers Au Koon Ying and Chan Wai Koon, Triumph In The Skies

II received highest number of votes and was awarded “My Favourite TVB Drama Series”.

Drama casts including Chilam Cheung, Myolie Wu, Kenneth Ma, Nancy Wu, Ron Ng, Eliza

Sam and Him Law shared the delight moments and expressed gratitude to the supports of the

Malaysians. Chilam Cheung, starring Captain Cool in the drama, was even crowned “My

Favourite TVB Actor in a Leading Role”. His brilliant performance brought him with a wide

of popularity, especially female fans! And, Linda Chung was awarded “My Favourite TVB

Actress in a Leading Role” for the first time by her role in Brother’s Keeper as CHEUK

CHING, which received a high recognition among audiences.

Triumph In The Skies II was very popular in Malaysia. Drama actor and actress Him Law

and Nancy Wu received “My Favourite TVB Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role”

awards from Eric Tsang. Him Law in pilot uniform was appealed to lots of female audiences.

His girlfriend in the drama, Nancy Wu, received award of supporting actress once again.

Participating in the drama after 10 years of the broadcast of first series, Nancy felt the award

was very meaningful and promised to continue putting effort in her acting.

Winner of “My Favourite TVB Promising Actor” went to Benjamin Yuen. His performances

in several dramas, namely A Change Of Heart, Always And Ever and The Hippocratic Crush

II, received recognitions among the audiences. And, Eliza Sam was awarded “My Favourite

TVB Promising Actress” with her participations in Triumph In The Skies II, Sniper Standoff

and The Hippocratic Crush II. She expressed it was a great encouragement in her actress

career. “My Favourite TVB On Screen Couple” was bagged by Kenneth Ma and Tavia

Yeung, who cooperated in The Hippocratic Crush II, in which their performances touched

numerous audiences. Before the announcement of “My Favourite TVB Drama Theme Song”,

singers Mag Lam, Fred Cheng, Jay Fung, Hubert Wu and Jonathan Wong performed the

nominated songs. After that, they announced the theme song of The Hippocratic Crush II by

Joey Yung awarded “My Favourite TVB Drama Theme Song”.

As for variety programme, Super Trio Maximus won “My Favourite TVB Variety Program”.

Eric Tsang, Elvina Kong and Wong Cho Lam were present to receive the award. 10

Programme hosts, including Eric Tsang, Chin Ka Lok, Jerry Lamb, Jordan Chan, Louis Yuen,

Wong Cho Lam, King Kong, Elvina Kong, Nancy Lan Sai and Otto Wong were even

garnered “My Favourite TVB Host in Variety Program”. Eric Tsang expressed greatest

gratitude to the continuous supports of audiences and they would produce more

entertainment variety programmes to audiences. And, Pilgrimage of Hope, hosted by Tong

Hung received “My Favourite TVB Enrichment Program”.

HOLIDAY - Triumph In The Skies II), Myolie Wu (KOO HA-SUN, SUMMER - Triumph In

The Skies II), Ron Ng (TONG YIK-FUNG, ISSAC - Triumph In The Skies II), Nancy Wu

(LING CHEUK-CHI, COCO - Triumph In The Skies II), Ruco Chan (KIU TIN-SENG -

Brother's Keeper), Edwin Siu (LAW WAI-SHUN - Brother's Keeper), Linda Chung

(CHEUK CHING - Brother's Keeper), Kristal Tin (YIU MAN-YING - Brother's Keeper),

Several performing guests were invited tonight. Acting as brothers in Brother's Keeper,

Ruco Chan and Edwin Siu performed the drama theme song. Malaysian child star Crystal

Lee also delivered English song. Fred Cheng, champion of Voice of Stars, battled with

champion of Malaysian singing talents competition, Nicole Lai. Red-hot artiste Chilam

Cheung also delivered awesome singing performance, hyping up the atmosphere. All awards

were successfully presented on the night. Artistes and guests gathered on stage for the

toasting ceremony and the awards presentation was contentedly concluded.
