Before we can come to answer this question, we must answer another

one!

how Jesus thinks?

The Spiritual Minded

Man!

The Spiritual Minded Man! 1 Cor 2:9-10, 16 But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have

entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who

love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit

searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But

we have the mind of Christ.

I. His Will!Will = thoughts, wants, and desires!▪The spiritual minded man longs for the

things of God, his desire is to please God in all that he does!▸1 Pet. 1:14-16 as obedient children, not

conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

God’s desires become his desires!▪1 Tim. 2:4 Who will have all men to be

saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ( cf. 2 Pet. 3:9)▸Rom. 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and

prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

▪The spiritual minded man learns to see life in light of the “Son!”▸He/she learns to live life following Jesus!▸1 Cor. 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I

also am of Christ.

II. His Work!“Desire, aquire, and perspire!

▪I wanted to be a worker for the Lord, unless that means I have to “really” work!▸Unfortunately this is the way many Christians

behave when it comes to working for the Lord.▸We have become accustom to giving God

what is “left” and not what is “right!”▪“And Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great

delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”(1Sam.15:22)

Called to be a worker!▪Tit 1:16 They profess to know God, but in

works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

▪Tit 2:7 “In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility.”

▪Tit 2:14 “Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.”

Called to be a worker!▪Tit 3:1 Remind them to be subject to

rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work.

▪Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

▪Tit 3:14 And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.

III. His Wisdom!Wisdom = the application of knowledge!▪Pr 1:1-5 The proverbs of Solomon the

son of David, king of Israel: To know wisdom and instruction, To perceive the words of understanding, To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity; To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion- A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.

Wise man vs. Foolish man!▪Mt 7:24-27 "Therefore whoever hears

these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: "and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

The Spiritual man seeks the wisdom of God and not the world!

▪1 Cor 1:18-19 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

▪1Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Conclusion:▪Have we really come to know “the new life

in Christ?” Have we developed “a spiritual mindedness?”
